Gone in Seven Seconds!

"The story begins with author Neri as our narrator sympathizing with our need to know about the fates of kind-hearted Alex and the musically gifted Karmelah from her first novel, ‘Melody’. Is there any hope that their love will keep them bonded together? Alas, poor Alex is doomed to be wounded in a near-fatal car crash. His memories are completely erased. He no longer remembers Karmelah or their great love and the doctor warns the Kolly family that even the memory of his name would cause unbearable pain and death. They quickly come up with the new name Arjun for Alex in the hopes of preserving his life. But an even worse fate is in store for Karmelah. Forced into marriage with the cruel Karman, Karmela endures humiliation after humiliation from Karman’s violent ways. She is slapped, her hair is torn from her scalp and she is thrown on the bed in an attempted rape. At the last moment, Karmela manages to escape through an open window. But wonders upon wonders, when Karmela breaks her ankle from the fall, Arjun feels the physical pain also, even though he has forgotten about the existence of his sweet Karmela. What is going on here? Perhaps Dr. Strange himself can explain it, after his unexpected visit to Arjun and the mysterious, glowing letter. I haven’t read the first book yet, since I’ve made it my mission to begin with this one. But I can tell it must be a wild and fun ride based on all that happens in Book II. My favorite part was when Dr. Strange from Marvel Comics comes to visit Alex .. or should I say Arjun. I’m not sure if this happens in reality or is a fever dream of Arjun’s but I sure enjoyed reading about it. Dr. Strange is my favorite superhero of all time. (Sorry Ginger. 🤭) Anyway, give this novel a try when you’re in the mood for an exotic love story with a touch of humor. "
