Stella Rae
"Stella...?..."
It felt as if time was frozen for a moment
It was her
Her Stella
The one and only
The woman I let go
For her own happiness
Was here standing beside her navy audi in front of Walmart in the thick of snow
I walked up to her with this loud and heavy heartbeat of mine
The one I once broke, for her
"Hey... Stella ? " My tone was too soft and low, hold up. Can she hear me?
" Stella. " I smiled a little, waving my palm in front of her face that locked to her phone.
She jumped back a little at the shock of it.
"Who are you? " She looked confused
I was, too.
"It's me, Dawn. " For a while, I was just looking at her blankly, not knowing how to feel or even react to what she just asked.
" Sorry, I don't know you. You must've mistaken me for someone else. " She let out a fake smile as she denied knowing me
My hands on each side of her shoulders, my confused self looking down at her
" Dawn Miller... You were my first love, remember? I was 16 when we met. You were 20. Stella Rae, your name. Shanty Rae, that's what I always called you. "
" What are you doing?! " A man pulled me away from her as he approached from behind. Jacob, her older brother.
" Jacob.. What's going on? " I asked with astonishment on my face
" Dawn... Stella went through some hard times. She was in a coma. I'll tell you more, but not right now. It's late. We came here to get something real quick. I'll hit you up tomorrow. Gotta leave for now. They're waiting. Goodnight, yeah? "
He opened the door for Stella, and she went in.
" Hey, she doesn't remember anything. She doesn't remember Luna, either. So you still have your chance, you know. I really liked you for her. " He smiled as he explained before walking round to the driver seat and drove off.
Flash back **
"I love you." She texted
For a moment, it felt fake. She was quite drunk. She will probably forget about it once she's sober
"Tell me that when you're sober." I texted back.
She loves me? Does she mean that?
"I'm not so drunk. "
"I love you," Yes, I did it. I confessed, too
"I love you." She sent the day after. When she wasn't drunk anymore.
It was somewhere in the late afternoon
" I'm sober." She sent another text
Back to the present time **
I did not sleep last night. I texted Jacob early in the morning. I was hoping to see if he would be available to have coffee with me later so that he could tell me everything.
And " sure, " he texted back,
