Plot

The book is written from the point of view of a boy from an abusive family that everyone thinks is the perfect family. No alcoholic fathers, no physically and emotionally abusive mothers but Jules is an abused child. He had two options, end his own life or run. He ran, he ran as far as he could before he passed out on the side of the road in California. He wakes up in the hospital to find out that he has been adopted by the therapist of the hospital and he now has to live in this new life with new friends and new adventures.

This book was also written to be a topic that needs more attention. Abusive families are not okay and if you realize someone around you or a close friend is trapped in an abusive home, bring that attention to the authorities, parent, guardian, or teacher right away.

Research

The topics I have had to research were how abused children behaved, especially older abused children because they have a different personality than the younger kids. I went over how abusive parents acted and I didn’t like it. I felt bad for making these kids feel this way but some of us need to know there’s another way out than suicide, and I want to make sure that some kids can see the signs of abusive parents if they don’t even realize it so they can get out of there and figure out their own way in life and make new friends that can actually help them through this stuff.
