Chapter one:captured
Olivia was awakened in the middle of the night by someone rustling in the bushes outside her window. Immediately, she jumps out of bed as her heart rate increases, and she hears the wolf inside her head let out a deep growl, confirming her worries. Her deep green eyes slowly adjust to the darkness outside as she peers outside the window. She can see a tall figure retreating into the woods that are near the place where she and her friend Caroline stopped to rest for the night. She runs to the bathroom to quickly grab the clothes she left after taking the first shower she had in almost a week; she quickly throws her long black hair into her hair tie and throws her dirty clothes back into her nap sack before quickly rushing into the room her best friend is sleeping in. As soon as she entered Caroline's room, she saw her jump up, letting out a soft yelp from being startled awake by Olivia. As soon as she recognizes Olivia, she lets out a deep sigh, narrows her pale blue eyes, and asks, "What the hell is your problem?" Olivia grabs her wrist, pulls her up, and yells, "They found us. We have to leave now!" Caroline feels her heart sink and quickly grabs her bookbag filled with her only belongings as Olivia pulls her out of the room. Just as Olivia and Caroline dashed out of the back door, she saw the outline of multiple figures peering at them from the woods; Olivia knew they wouldn't let them leave without a fight. Olivia looks at Caroline and whispers, "As soon as I bring my wolf forward, run as fast as you can to the car, and I'll be right behind you." the figure she saw outside her window steps forward out of the woods as soon as the words leave her mouth and says "I wouldn't do that if I were you" Olivia looks towards the man with a shocked expression which slowly turns to anger. Just as she starts to bring her wolf forward, the man lifts his hand, and both girls get shot with a dart
which immediately makes both of their visions blur; Caroline falls to the ground, and
Olivia screams her name, trying to prevent herself from falling to the ground. Olivia begins pulling her wolf forward to pick up her best friend. But, before she can reach her, the man lifts his hand in the air again, which Immediately causes another dart to come flying into her back. She feels her legs give way and falls to the ground right beside her best friend; as Olivia begins to give into the sleep dart, she grabs her best friend's hand and "whispers I'm sorry I couldn't protect us" as she gives way to darkness.
