Third Person P.O.V
It was a normal day for seventeen-year-old Eliya. She woke up at the crack of dawn, just like every other day, and began her daily routine. She brushed her teeth, washed her face, and pulled on a pair of comfy sweatpants. As she ate her breakfast of Cheerios and sipped her coffee, she gazed out the window, watching the birds chirp and the leaves rustle in the gentle breeze.
Later that day, she had went to the hospital for a routine check-up. Her parents had insisted on accompanying her, not realizing the gravity of the situation. Her doctor, Dr. Travis walked in and started putting together the tests. As he began to examine her, he grew increasingly concerned. He asked Eliya to step into another room for a few minutes, and her parents were left waiting nervously in the examination room.
Finally, the doctor emerged and called them in. His face was somber, and Eliya could sense the tension in the air. He delivered the news gently: Eliya had a rare disease, leukemia.
The news had hit her like a ton of bricks, and she was overwhelmed with a lot of fear, anger, and sadness. She couldn’t believe that something so serious could happen to her at such a young age.
Despite the physical and emotional toll that the devastating news of having leukemia took on her, her parents were just as devastated as she was. They were struggling to maintain their composure as they tried to comfort their daughter after receiving the horrible news. They vowed to fight alongside her every step of the way; promising her they would do anything in their power to make her feel well again and fight this disease. She hugged them and was grateful for her parents because without them, she wouldn’t know what to do with this situation.
After a few minutes, they had exited the hospital. The shock of the news still affecting them. The doctor had listed a few treatments for her to undergo such as chemotherapy which was something they were scared to do.
This was just the beginning of her new life having to battle this chronic disease and could have a drastic impact on how she can continue living her used to be very happy and enjoyable life.
