Robert Grognon: From Accountant to Grand Galactic Regent

All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

In a galaxy where naming your planet 'Earth' is commonplace, Robert Grognon emerges as an unlikely Galactic Grand Regent, originally just a simple Earth accountant catapulted well beyond his narrow comfort zone despite himself. Agatam Sissi Dobruel, the 98th Grand Scribe, is tasked with documenting Grognon's life, beliefs, and the customs he brings from his version of Earth. Amidst galactic politics, unique traditions, and a colorful cast of characters, this biography explores the apprehension of fate, the quest for identity, and the origin of kebabs, in an adventure that defies time and space.

Foreword

The biography of Robert Grognon, Grand Galactic Regent, is the work of a lifetime. As the Grand Scribe, I, Agatam Sissi Dobruel, am tasked with being ready from the moment a new Grand Regent arises, in order to portray him through a series of interviews so that the people of the Great Regency, on a galactic scale, may be able to order a copy and be in a position to inform themselves about the life and personality of the new leader.

Regarding Your Servant, what does “being ready” mean? It means living my life, hoping not to die before the advent of the new Grand Regent. Living my life as a great privileged individual, on the Golden Astre, the seat of galactic power, an artificial planet of bright yellow that reflects the light of all the surrounding stars, capable of moving instantaneously to any place in the Galaxy. However, when the call rings out, I must set everything aside and imperatively get to work, so that the biography can be transmitted to the formatting and duplication workshops, to the Grand Export, as soon as possible.

Once my task is completed, I return to living my life until its end. This is the role of the Grand Scribe, of my role, therefore, as well as that of my illustrious predecessors and those who will succeed me.As you will see in this work, the form may differ somewhat from other biographies related to the Grand Regency as a whole. This is one of my prerogatives, much to the chagrin of the ayatollahs of the Grand Regency doctrine and of good literary taste, who, besides never having written a single line in their lives, pose as leaders of the cultural world even though they are merely poorly advised, uneducated, and ill-informed consumers.

They will recognize themselves, I hope.

Finally, note that any unit of distance, time, volume, mass, and other specifics, are as usual translated into the language of the Reader to facilitate understanding of the story.

To the widest readership, I hope my work will give you satisfaction and enlighten you on the life, customs, and psyche of our Grand Galactic Regent, the aptly named Robert Grognon.
