Also I guess this book is dedicated to all the lonely canines searching for a forever home, and happy family I hope you find one.

The author of the book is a volunteer for a dog rescue and appreciates anyone who has adopted a shelter animal or given an animal a second chance. This book is dedicated also to all the canines and the people who gave our animals a chance. Thank you for opening you heart and home to a pet from Heavenly Hounds and let’s help find those animals less fortunate a loving forever home. I also want to thank Buddy my cat for tolerating me writing this story.

Introduction to Planet Canine

Imagine if you will that there are multiple planets capable of supporting life and on each planet life has evolved and changed in a very different way. Let me tell you it is true there are many different planets out there capable of supporting life. This is the story of one of those planets where humans serve the canines. On my planet canines rule as the dominate race and humans are our pets and servants. It may seem impractical to those not familiar with our planet but it exists and it has for many years. Let me explain some of the basics of our society and planet before I go into the specifics. Like most planets it has the essentials for life but our planet is extremely special. Our planet water sources are comprised of mostly fresh water so there is no shortage of water to drink which is a good thing. We have five main continents each with some islands. The first is in the shape of a dog paw the second connected continent is shaped similar to a wolf paw print there is also another continent on the opposite side with a similar shape. This story is going to be the first written history of the Forrest Clan ever presented; for on our planet most of the stories were passed down from generation to generation orally.

It may be hard to believe that animals of any kind can speak or write a language that humans understand. Most dogs and wolves can speak a form of what the humans refer to as English. There are different dialects of dog and wolf specific to their breed or where the canine was born. Those of us that speak only dog, wolf, or can’t speak English proficiently have translators created by our scientists. Throughout the ages canines have always outnumbered the human race on our humble planet. It was only recently that wolves and dogs began being able to read and write in the human language of English. Dogs and wolves have a picture based language we use to record our history and stories. We do have newspapers written only in this language and we teach each generation the symbols and their meanings. However in my generation this is being phased out and the ancient stories are being translated into English. I will explain how this change took place later in my narrative for it was the work of the founder of our clan that led to this change.

One may find oneself asking how did the canine wind up ruling this planet let’s call it planet K-9 to make it easier to understand its history. On K-9 generations are tracked from the first dog or wolf in a family group to communicate with humans and each time that pups are born from that point on. As the human’s language evolved they began to give the wolves names, each wolf learned that name and began to refer to themselves by that name. Soon it became commonplace for wolves to name the pups they had. A family group consist of a male and female and there pups and as the pups grow up and leave the home and form their own family unit they would become the next generation. Some families can go back over 500 generations. Not only are canines divided by generation number, gender but also buy status in the overall community often referred to as the pack. There are two main statuses for canines either you are and alpha or and omega there is a sub omega class referred to as the Jello’s. Alphas tend to be the one who are leader’s future leaders they have very specific skill or jobs that help the whole pack survive. Omegas tend to be the followers and the jobs available to them are a lot fewer and omegas tend to not get promoted to more advance jobs. Jello’s have the worst most basic job available and tend to have a shorter life span than most wolves unless they have one very useful skill like hunting.

You see the humans serve all the canines of the world they take care of us at our jobs, keep us fed groomed and happy. The humans have other jobs and responsibilities as our servants because at one point in time the first canine to communicate with a human saved all of human kind. This is one of the first stories that was written in canine and human although most consider it a legend that has been changed and embellished throughout the year’s both species canine and human respect it enough that it has become truth.
