My hair was always so messy, it wasn’t easy to put it in a simple ponytail. It was alright. People knew me from being a crazy but unique person. My reputation was also perfect. Junior year had just began, and I was excited about graduating. Along with a couple of my friends. Jannett is my childhood friend. She’s funny. Comedian funny. Clown funny. I’m not sure. There wasn’t anything we didn’t do together.

Spring was coming in a few weeks but it had already started to warm up. We started to just put a thin sweater over our uniform. Uniform was actually formal in my opinion. It was all navy blue with a couple of yellow stripes. The rest being a white collar shirt with a navy blue skirt

My friend group is pretty big, we don’t stay at home at all. We go out afterschool to anywhere, maybe even everywhere.

“The air conditioning doesn’t work here can we go out afterwards to get some ice cream!” Jannett approached me as I went to my classes.

Keep up with school work is hard. I wouldn’t have been this advanced if it wasn’t for Rafael.

He walked towards Jannett and I holding 2 juices.

“It’s hot here, I don’t want you getting sick” Rafael smiles and tucked my hair behind my ears.

“Are you serious?” Jannett looked at the other juice with puppy eyes. He walked away though.

“Let’s get ice cream then Jannett” I responded.

We walk into the ice cream shop and notice it was quite empty leaving 2 people up front and a few in the back.

The cashier was a boy around my age. It felt like we’ve met before.

“Excuse me” I tried getting his attention.

“No pictures please” he said in a sassy tone.

He sure needs to get humbled. What the?

Jannett noticed what had occurred and agreed with my statement.

“Who is he?”

“I’m not sure. Let me try searching him up.”

He walked toward Jannett and I and apologized.

“See, I’m just trying to stay low with my family situation, I’m sorry.”

It was unexpected for this cashier to apologize when we haven’t done much.

“Have we met?”
