"It's not difficult to believe a society like this could come to pass, where the thing that separates the one-percenters from the rest of us is DNA, not the money you have in the bank, where the most powerful live longer, richer lives, where young children with the newest genes are allowed to run everything. Even right now, it feels like the world is slavishly obsessed with youth, beauty, and privilege. This novel mocks all of that - in highly entertaining fashion - and shows us where we're headed if current trends continue. I think that's the job of the sci-fi writer, to hold up a mirror so we can see our distorted funhouse reflections, and this writer nails it perfectly."
Thought provoking
"Funny, surprising, suspenseful. Things in this novel stay with you long after you've stopped reading. The author brings up many interesting questions - are we just the sum of our breeding and environment, or is there more to what makes us who we are? And Tessa being trapped in a prison of perception is the perfect way to explore these topics. I have not burned through a book like this one in a while, so I had to write and congratulate you on a job well done."
well-executed
"I'm generally not a big fan of YA but this book was a lot of fun. The characters were relatable and before I knew it, I was staring at the last chapter. Even though first person is not my favorite kind of writing style, I love how you wove Tessa's intellect into the story, and I think the book benefits from her strong point of view. Even though he doesn't quite appear enough given his weight in the story, you can still feel his presence throughout the chapters when he disappears. The only real flaw I found was that the book can be a bit confusing with so many plot turns. I did have to re-read a few paragraphs to get a clear understanding, but once the reader grasps the style of writing, they won't realize they read it all the way to the end as I did. I believe that you're really on to something here!"

"This book has drama love action I like all these especially the way this author writes in the moment the scene she is in.plus in the book the settings are interesting showing which things the author thinks is fair in this world or not. One the characters I like is Greymore he is special in the book and it describes his feelings and thoughts about Tessa, Tessa is always in the scene he is in and always on his mind."

Some of the scientific themes are hard to follow, but not enough to distract really."

The way Tessa refuses to give up, even when she keeps getting dumped on and her back is always against the wall, is inspiring. The world she occupies is unique and well-crafted. I wouldn't call it a dystopia, nor a utopia. Is there such thing as a topia?"
A cool idea
"This is like a cool mashup of A Brave New World and Lord of the Flies. A society where the youngest family members are in charge because they have the newest genetic modifications is a cool idea and creates an interesting dynamic among the characters. I'm usually a fan of more hard science fiction but this story really grabbed me and wouldn't let go."
An unexpected gem
"Love your story!! There are great action scenes, but the characters and their relationships are what really kept me plowing through the chapters. That, and the way the characters describe things in creative and weirdly scientific ways, the way a person with super intelligence probably would see the world."
Aptly named
"This writer has a real knack for putting you in the main character's skin. All the highs and lows, you feel like ur right there with her. From falling in love for first time to being tortured by her little brother. And by the way, the book is aptly named. Can't tell you how many times I wanted to cry for poor Tessa."
Worth the time!
"Unlike a lot of sci-fi, this novel doesn't take itself too seriously, spoofing everyone from social media stars to models and politicians. And there's imagery in here I still can't get out of my head, like the dinner of the reckoning and Tessa's hallucination at the synth club. Funny and biting at times, dream-like and haunting in others, this novel really gets under your skin. The scariest part of all, I can imagine a society in the future where all of this is really happening!"

"This writer has quite a good voice. Beneath Tessa's quirky sweet exterior, she's smart and unshakeable. No matter what trials the author puts her through - and there are lots - she refuses to bend. The deeper you go into this novel, the more layers you find to her. Would highly recommend this and look forward to more from this author."
