With tears in your eyes

People always see what they want to see. It is a curse but they do not seem to notice. Maybe it is the best for them that they can not see the pain of others. Why I am not affected by this? Truthfully, I do not know. Sometimes I wish I would be cursed too but tonight I was grateful.

I was able to see his beauty. I was able to see the elegance in his movement. And I was able to see the tears in his eyes. While every one else marvelled at his dance he cried and no one noticed. What upset him? What could make the beloved prince cry? As the music quieted down I got riped out of my thoughts. The mass of people seperated again and I caught a glimpse of the prince as he hurried out of the ball room. Without hesitation I pushed through the crowd. I entered the hallways as I heard a door slam shut. I quickly followed the noise that led me in front of a room which I assumed belonged to him. Before I could change my mind I entered the room without even knocking. Where were my manners? But I could not hang on that thought for long.

My view was glued to the shocked expretion of the prince. Even though his face was still puffy red there was also something else. Curiosity? "What do you want from me?" he whispered. "What upset you. What made you cry?" I responded in the same tone. The prince whipped his head towards me in surprise but said nothing. "What made you cry?" I repeated a bit more loudly. To that he just shook his head and tears started to rolled down his cheeks again. Even though we just met I took a step forward to wipe his face clean. He stared puzzeled into my eyes. After a few moments I turned to hide my probably bright pink blush and get his blanket from the bed. I returned to him and laid the blanket onto his shoulders."Thank you, . . . uhh what is your name?" he sniffed but seemed to be calmer now. "It is May. Yours?" I replied sitting on his bed. "Well, thank you May. Mine is June but it wonders me that you do not know my name." He was now smiling. When he did not cry he only seemed to smile. Before I knew it, a genuine smile spread across my face. "You were always refered to as the Prince so..." I drifted off. He just nodded in agreement.

"It is funny how we just met but act like friends." June said breaking our comfortable silence."Maybe we do not have to act like it," I countered "How about I visit again tomorrow." I was now really concerned about my confidence towards the prince. It took a few moments but then his face lit up which I took as a yes. "Meet me at two in the royal garden?" he asked. I then answered "Sounds good to me. See you tomerrow." With that I stood up as June gripped my shirt. "Uhh. . . actually I could use some company until the ball is over." he said in his shy voice again. "Sure. How about. . . Truth or Truth to get to know each other better. It is like Truth or Dare but without dares." I suggested.

We started off with the basics like hobbies, favorite colors or opinions about some noblemen but we quickly got to more personal questions.

"Did you ever have a crush on a character from a story?" June questioned. Even though I was a bit embarrassed I answered "Um. . . Yes, I actually once had."

"Really?! Who?"

"Hold on. Only one question at a time." I was now totally sure my face was colored in every shade of red. "Okay my turn. . . Have you ever taken a piece of the royal treasure?" I asked him still blushing. June’s face paled as he seemed to get lost in thought. He snapped back into reality when I tapped him on the shoulder. "I-I once broke a vase."he stuttered wrapping his blanket tighter around his body. I noticed how uncomfortable June was so I did not push it. He waited a few seconds as his color came back before he said "So who was this crush of yours?" "I would rather not answer. Uuhhh. . . can I just lie or make a bad excuse for leaving?"

First chapter, what do you think? I know it is a bit short... Also I planned NOTHING. I am making this up along the way. (How the mint did you find this)

I am not using apostrophies because of my keyboard so some sentences may sound weird. ///795
