An Intriguing Read
"This story, full of intriguing characters who don't seem to be telling the truth, pulled me in immediately. I'm curious about where it will go from here. I also enjoyed the language, the tone it is written in, it's fitting for a murder mystery set in the past decades."
Sensational Melted Chocolates
"Everything needed to make a story rich is there. The plot is clear and sensational; I love the writer's skill in telling her story with descriptive words that makes it easy to picture the scenes and put yourself in it. I love that you are made to chuckle ever so often even though the narrative has a serious and tensed undertone. How you end on cliffhangers is very smart. In all, it’s a story that I will recommend for a good read. Love it."
Captivating and Compelling
"If you're in the mood for a gripping read, this book should definitely be on your radar. The storytelling structure is top-notch, effortlessly navigating a morally complex landscape that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. One of the standout features of this book is the author's writing style, which seamlessly blends lyrical prose with concise, impactful sentences. It's a testament to their skill and versatility as a writer. And then there's the murder mystery at the heart of the story. With its unique and diffuse circumstances, it's a puzzle that will keep you guessing until the very end. Overall, it's clear that this book has the potential to be a future hit. I can already imagine seeing it displayed on the shelves of my favorite bookstore, and I have no doubt it will be a worthy addition to any reader's collection."
Contemporary and Enduring
"This has the feel of a Barnes & Noble book coming fresh off the shelves. It props up a premise against a very textured, very abrasive, very contentious moral backdrop, that softly lulls, weaving through the narrative bones in a familiar, relatable, necessary -and- disturbing way. It plucks at the cords of social discord very, very well; just enough to shock people out of their antiquity, and provide much-needed realism. I enjoy how the author uses their eloquent diversity: some sentences are long and pricked with surprising notes of lyricism and poem; and some are short; flicked onto the page to keep the narrative flowing. Frank is not your typical male lead protag: he's akin to an Al Bundy in his raw verisimilitude, so when we journey, we journey through his eyes, and it creates such an interesting perspective of the world. Starting off with a murder with some unique, diffusive circumstances? With an Al Bundy lead serving as narrating - it shouldn't work: but it does!"
