Chapter 1 The Barn
Gina It was a normal Thursday afternoon after school, I had decided to go to the barn to do some chores and work since thats mostly how I pay for lessons and stabling fees since my parents didnt pay for it. Heck they never helped me pay for anything, but I didnt need them too. I didnt want them to I was just fine managing on my own as a 17 year old, The only thing I ever wanted was to not be my dads human punching bag when I go home. But we dont always get what we want. Growing up was hard, I didnt have any friends, my father forbid me from talking to my family outside of them, and I wasnt allowed to disobey him. I knew the consequences if I did, which made growing up and going to public highschool hard, I was alone, a loner, but not by choice. I couldnt have friends and I knew why. Father always knew I would tell someone or they would find out about what happened at home. Thats why I never got close to people... also because I didnt want anyone missing me when I was gone, having to grieve my loss would hurt me more than the people I hurt... but.. I didnt have anyone that cared right now anyway so I didnt need to worry.
It was 4:36 in the afternoon and I was cleaning stalls for the owner as pay for my lessons and stabling fees, since I wasnt helping with lessons today I had to clean stalls. And let me tell you it is not fun. But... it pays for my riding. Ive already been here for an hour and I was almost finished, just had 2 more stalls to clean. I started cleaning one of the mares stalls, which i knew wouldnt take me too long since most the mares here kept they're stalls cleaner than the geldings. The mare came over to me when I opened her stall. "Hey pretty girl. Im just here to clean your stall i promise im not here to ride you." I giggled a bit to myself* I brought the wheel barrow in and started cleaning her stall. She was one of the sweeter mares who liked being loved on and pleasing people, it was hard to find horses like that. I was almost done mucking her stall when I heard a loud *BANG* come from the tack room causing me to jump a bit leaving my heart racing a bit. I slowly walked out her stall looking around checking to see if anyone was around. No one. I put the pitch fork down and slowly approached the tack room slowly watching for any sudden movements. I got to the door and took a deep breath in and swung the door open.
