Chapter 1

There was once an underground arena that hosts fights every night. The Arena was massive with a stone wall encircling a ground made of dirt. The fights were always one on one with no weapons. Anything goes no matter how dangerous or dirty the attack is. These rules truly benefited the arena’s champion a sinister beast of a man.
He was massive, hideous, vicious and enjoyed harming others. It wasn’t even accurate to refer to him as a person. IT was so animalistic and cruel to Its Challengers. It fought every night three times and never loses a single match. IT always severely injured his opponents, sometimes so badly they never fight again. It’s also ended the lives of four men and wishes to do so again. Tonight marks one year since the last time it’s done so. So, it planned to do so again during the third fight.
The Beast stood behind a wooden gate waiting to step into the arena. It’s heart pound with excitement.
“I’ll make the first one quick, that will really excite the crowed.” It thought. “The second one I’ll take my time make sure he remembers me. Yeah that one I’ll make a spectacle. The last one I’ll finish in the arena then no one will forget me.”
Then the gate opened and The Beast stepped out onto the dirt floor to hear the roar of a cheering crowed. It raised its arms up and smiled ominously. The beast stood seven feet tall and its body was covered head to toe in deformed muscles. Its face was covered in scars and teeth were pointed and chaotic. There was no hair on its body to cover the scars all over. The Beast and is now eagerly waiting for his first opponent. It’s told nothing in advance so each one was a surprise.
The first challenger almost made he Beast laugh. He was a small young man who stood just an inch under six feet and was rather light in weight. He looked tiny compared to his opponent, But was not afraid.
The challenger stood ready heart pounding with fear thinking to himself. “This man is truly monstrous but I can’t allow my fear to overcome me. Fear is an obstacle to the finish line. And I must win this. I will win this, I’ll humble this Beast.”
The Beast chuckled to himself thinking. “It seams God has given me the perfect start to my night.” Than he readied himself for the fight.
The Two stood a fair distance away from each other eager to fight. The bell rung and the challenger began sprinting forward. The Beast threw a punch however the Challenger ducked under it. The Challenger then threw a punch upwards striking it under the chin. The strike hurt but, wasn’t enough power to even move The Beast, as it retaliated with a kick to the torso. This send the Challenger flying back with no air in his lungs. The challenger tried to stand up however The Beast came onto him with a berage of fist. IT struck him viciously with heavy blows. The sound of bones breaking echoed after each one. The Challenger was lucky to regain his breath but he could not scream. Some people in the crowed cheered while others gasped and even shout. After eleven strikes the Beast relented ending the first match.
The Challenger was unconscious as The Beast walked back to the gate.
“Their screams.” It thought as it walked. “I’ve heard the crowed cheering together countless times. I’ve only ever heard them scream together those four other times. I truly hope the fifth time is sweeter then the fourth.” He began to laugh as he entered the gate. “Just like every other time it was just sweeter and sweeter.”
The Beast waited an hour before it was let out into the arena. This time only half the crowed was cheering. It paced around impatiently waiting for the next opponent. And it was not disappointing. A Large man who was only an inch shorter then The Beast stepped into the arena.
The Challenger immediately readied himself thinking. “Tonight is my night this Beast has maimed countless fighters. Tonight I’ll avenge them, tonight I’ll humble The Beast.”
The Beast almost bounced with excitement. “Oh shit, this has to be the best night ever.” He mused “It’s been a year since I’ve fought a challenger as large as me. I hope you can fight as good has he did.”
The two fighters walked to the center of the arena. they stood only a couple feet from each other waiting for the bell. As soon as it rung The two warriors charge against each other. The Challenger grabbed the Beast’s head pulling it down the beast did the same. The two wrestled each other trying to throw one another to the ground. They went around in circles with their grips changing. The Beast tried to throw the Challenger however it couldn’t, For the challenger was skilled and heavy enough to land and remain on his feet. The Beast tried throwing him three more times But each time The challenger land back onto his feet. After a fourth attempted the Challenger freed himself. The Challenger then gripped the beast’ left arm and attempted to kick The Beast left foot from under him. However, The Beast predicted this move and raise is left leg for a kick to the side. The Challenger was hurt but he did not relent as he wrapped his arms around The Beast’s head and left shoulder. The Challenger squeezed his arms together hard and pulled down. The Beast still didn’t go down and now they stood locked in place trying to regain their breath.
“Damn it all! How is he still standing.” The Challenger thought “I’ve taken down larger Men than him with this technique. Why now has it failed me of all matches. Why now?”
The Beast was having fun thinking to itself. “I’m truly impress Challenger. I can’t get my head up, my feet are to far back to really help and I can’t throw a good enough punch like this. However, this is were I sear myself into your mind. You’re truly impressive, But you wouldn’t be able to handle this.”
The Beast then plunged his teeth into the Challengers Left trap. At the same time he plunged his right hand’s nails into the Challenger’s side. The challenger Let go but The Beast didn’t. The Challenger then struck the Beast right under his chest. This was extremely painful for The Beast so it ripped its teeth and nails out. The Challenger stepped back in pain as The Beast buckled over for the same reason.
The Challenger looked on with fear thinking “This savage would do such a thing! How could he? where’s his honor? How could this be allowed? Will no one do something about this?”
The Beast stood up licking the blood from its lips with a monstrous look in its eyes. It then charged attempting to tackle The challenger. The Challenger retaliating by ducking down and grabbing The Beast by the legs and ramming his head and shoulder into The Beast’s waist. This took it to the ground and now the Beast was helpless. The Challenger began raining blows onto him planning to keep striking until the Beast wavers.
“I have you now Dammit!” The Challenger yelled.
But, the Challenger didn’t expect The Beast to pierce each of his sides using his thumb nails. The Challenger jumped up in pain and had to remove a nail. This Gave the Beast the time to Strike. It slashed its opponent’s back causing him to scream. It continually slashed The challenger with his nails over and over again. The slashes didn’t cut deep enough to wound or kill but the pain was debilitating. Blood flew everywhere leaving a small part of the ground stained red. As the Challenger writhed in pain. The Beast then struck him in the head with all its might. This sent the challenger tumbling to the ground ending the Second match.
Still the Crowed was split, half of them cheered and applaud while the other screamed and persecuted. The Beast walked away satisfied with no thoughts. Only the sensation of bliss as it walks back to the gate. Its last challenger sat among the crowed watching with disgust.
“How could a man take such pleasure in harming someone? This Arena’s Champion is truly a Beast and This Beast is going to humble me.” He mused.
The two combatants waited for an hour before they stepped into the arena. As soon as the two locked eyes The Beast was filled with rage. Its opponent was smaller then the last. Though he was larger then the first being two inches over six feet. However, the Beast was almost three times his weight and towered over him. He had his hair tied up and a bandana around his forehead.
“I can’t believe this is who they send me.” The Beast thought to himself. “I should’ve killed the last one cause this will only be disappointing. But, maybe the crowed will scream more this way.” The Beast then smiled having some joy accompanied its hatred of its Challenger.
The Challenger thought to himself. “He’s truly monstrous I never thought such man existed.” He then looked down at his hand. “I can’t stop shaking I can feel the urge to run all around me. Good I’m mentally prepared for the task ahead of me. Fear is my companion and I must tame it. Father I ask you now for strength against this Beast for I’m no match for it. And I’m a coward”
Both combatants then readied themselves at the center of the ring. They were just out of The champion’s arm spam, waiting for the bell. The moment it rung the Beast lunged forward with a strike. The Challenger waited until the last second sliding his head past the Beast fist. He then immediately delivered two strikes two The Beast’s head. This dazed it long enough for the Challenger to deliver a kick to the left of It’s head this brought The Beast to the ground. The crowed was shocked at the outcome no one thought The Beast could be defeated.
The Beast however wasn’t defeated and quickly rows to feat sprint towards the Challenger. He kept his distance from The Beast but, it began to swing it’s fist wildly at him. He slipped past the first one then the second and after the third struck The Beast three times. First his right fist disoriented The Beast. Then his Left struck forward with full power. Last he struck front the right to disrupt The Beast balance. The Beast attempted to strike twice but missed both times. The Challenger leaned back out of it’s reach and delivered a kick under it’s chin. The Beast did not fall though as it lunged forward and grabbed The Challenger by the hair.
The Beast held the Challenger with one arm so he could only stand on his toes. It stood there for a moment for it’s head to stop spinning. The Challenger held its arm trying to not hang from his hair.
The Beast pierced into his eyes as it growled. “You’re better then I expected which makes this more worth It.”
It began to slash into its Challenger’s Torso then his arms. It’s nails didn’t cut deep but He bleed everywhere. The Challenger winced in pain as the dust seeped into his cuts.
The Challenger then prayed in his head. “Father why have you left me here. NO! I mustn’t be that way. Please forgive me and help me free from this thing’s grasp.” The Challenger then kicked The Beast stunning it shortly. This caused it to let him feet down which he then yanked down with all his might. Most of his hair was now out. The Beast then struck him send him flying back.
The Challenger was covered head to tow with pain. His hair now fell into his eyes as he felt blood leek into his band. Every clash stung like fire and limbs ached from the strikes he delivered to The Beast. The Beast Stomped to the Challenger as he sat on his knees in pain.
“I must not stop. But, it hurts. NO! I can’t stop.” The Challenger wrestled in his head. “It burns all over. Then Let’s use the fire as full dammit.”
The Beast began taunting. “If you’re going to step into my arena then you should’ve planned to come here posing a challenge.” The Beast was bluffing as it thought to itself. “I’ve never felt pain like this before I’ve never had such a rush from a Challenger. He’s worth the kill.”
The Challenger then made another prayer for strength. Afterwards he struck his fist into the dirt before grabbing the remaining hairs in his head. HE yelled as he ripped out the remaining strands.
His yell stunned the crowd and The Beast. When he yelled his voiced echoed around the arena. After the first second, of his seven second yell, his voice sound like three voices. He then took a deep breath and readied himself.
His Body still hurt but he was to focused on The Beast for the pain to stop him. The two combatants lunged towards each other and began delivering blows. The Beast could only graze it’s challenger, but it’s strikes were still devastating. The Challenger endured this until he managed to strike The Beast seven times. After the seventh strike the Beast strength wavered as it’s challenger attempted to tackle it. He couldn’t bring The Beast down for it leaned forward onto him. The Challenger shoved back as The Beast attempted to bite him. The Beast was able to get his left forearm. But before it could clamp down the Challenger struck the left joint in its jaw dislocating it. The Beast lunged back in pain to reset it’s jaw. The Challenger readied himself for an attack. But then he noticed The Beast grab a hand full of dirt. He flinch back as the Beast threw the pile. But it threw the dirt to it’s side. The distracted the Challenger long enough for it to close the distance and sink its teeth into his choler bone. It couldn’t bite full force as The challenger kneed the beast under the rib cage. This gave him enough distance to deliver a strike to The Beast left cheek. The blow was so powerful it left a dent that bled. The Beast then kicked it’s challenger to the ground winding him.
The Challenger laid on the ground unable to breath and unable to get up. The Crowed thought The Beast was going to come onto him. But it didn’t it stood there and waited until he got up.
The Challenger was shocked so, he called out. “So you do, have a sense of honor.”
“three thousand one hundred and twenty two.” The Beast respond. That’s how many combatants I’ve beaten before you. Only a hundred and twenty two have left scars on me. Now that’s a hundred and twenty three. I wait because I know challengers like you are fun to fight.”
With that the Beast ran forward and began slashing at the Challenger. He ducked past three swings before striking The Beast two times. Then he grabbed The Beast arm and threw it over his shoulder onto the ground. He then wrapped his arms and legs around it’s arm. He attempted to break it But, it was long as he was tall. The Beast then stood up with him outward on his arm. The Challenger yank hard causing it to stumble to one knee. However he hit his head on the dirt shaking his thoughts. The Beast raised him up then struck him off his arm onto the ground. The Challenger managed to land onto his feet. At that moment the Beast threw a barrage of punches. The Challenger dodged all eleven blows. He then struck The Beast were he kneed it earlier. This cause The Beast to buckle over in pain unable to breath.
The Challenger stood over it and asked. “are you done now?”
The Beast was now enraged by this question.
“How dare he humiliate me like that?” It thought. “IN MY OWN ARENA!”
Then it struck the ground sending dust flying everywhere. The Challenger could not see for a short moment. But then, the Beast charged out of the dust cloud unleashing a flurry of attacks. It punched and clawed the challenger over and over. All he could do was try to remain on his feet as the strikes were incredibly heavy. The Beast continued this until the Challenger was up against the wall. The Beast struck and slashed it’s challenger twelve times each. The Challenger looked on at the Arena’s Champion. IT was just standing there readying a powerful strike.
The Challenger almost cried. “I’m powerless. I’ve given it my best. I’ve struck with my best combinations, used the only grappling techniques that were viable. And yet it still wasn’t enough. I’ve left one scratch on his face and jostled him a little.” He thought. “Forgive me father for I have failed.”
After that prayer The Beast threw a right punch head on. In that moment The Challenger time slowed and he could understand three different perspective. His own position, what The Beast is doing and what he needed to do. Just before The Beast could land his strike The challenger ducked to the right left. Then he delivered a punch upward striking the tip of The Beast’s nose and it’s forehead. This sent it back a step but it still stood. The Challenger then delivered another strike with his other hand right on The Beast’s chin.
The Beast nose throbbed in pain as bleed. It’s legs felt weak and everything starting and its vision began spinning. It struggled to stand as The Beast began swinging again. The Challenger dodged each one before kicking The Beast’s left knee dropping it on one leg. The Beast tried to grabbed the challenger with its right arm. But it’s challenger grabbed it’s hand and twist it around dislocating it. The Beast howled in agony allowing Its challenger to strike his nose with his right hand. The Beast raised his left hand to protect it but the Challenger grabbed it with his left hand and delivered a second strike. The Beast freed it’s hand and ducked its head behind its arms. IT thought it was safe. However The Challenger knew what to do. He struck under the beast arms with his right. Sending The Beast head above it’s arms. Then He struck forward with his left hitting under the nostril. The Beast fell back dead ending the match and It’s rain as champion.
The crowed looked on in silence surprised at the outcome. The one by one they began to clap and cheer for the new champion. They shouted cheered and praised him for overcoming such a foe. Best of all none of them were upset to see the Beast’s end. Even It’s fans had agreed that it was time for a new champion.
However the challenger did not feel the same. He looked on at the prior champion dead on the ground. He was horrified he did not intend to strike The Beast nostrils.
“I I I didn’t mean to kill him.” he whispered as thoughts began swirling in his head. “I’m a killer! What have I done! I’ve always aim for their nose cause that’s how I could hit their chin. No I shouldn’t have been so reckless.”
He shook from guilt and fear for what he’s done. But then a calming sensation came over him.
Then an inclination popped into his head. “This man was larger then most and like an animal. He never relied on his speed so, he wasn’t going to move like previous opponents. You desired mercy for your opponent who desired a fight to the death. You’re forgiven.”
With that thought The Challenger accept his new title as champion. But he did not hold onto it the same. He went in search for more arenas that give rain to savage fighters. His goal was to take the title of champion from each. So, that no monster may hold such a title over others.
The Beast had a long and terrible rain that last years. Many people remember him as being a true monster. Some loved him though not for long. The Beast was remembered as he desired. Though his legacy was now over shadowed by the Champion arena. This was because people wanted his rain as champion to be over.
