The PAST
It was a chilly evening in December. Snow-clad benches, the essence of young love in the air, and the giggling of innocent children filled the surroundings.
But the same cannot be said for Oizys, the brown-haired beauty’s eyes held the ocean of sorrow. It was exactly a year after her parent’s death.
While the world welcomed Christmas, she was imagining a world where the tragedy didn’t hit, a world where she could go back to buying and hiding presents for her parents.
She used to work double shifts during fall to make enough to get her parents gifts out of her own hard-earned money.
She always thought of celebrating her 18th Christmas with her parents in their cozy one-story house. The same house which was now empty and full of memories.
She dreamt it was her last Christmas before she embarked on the journey of med school. But all her dreams were shattered. She could no longer afford bills let alone get a loan for school.
Oizys was still hopeful of the scholarship, but days passed and there was no reply.
Tired from her uneventful day she decided to walk back to the same empty shell which she used to call home.
Standing at her doorstep she was expecting all of this to be a nightmare and hoping to see her mother invite her with the aroma of her favourite food.
She was busy thinking when a mysterious man approached her.
The man was the epitome of beauty. His blonde hair and crystal blue eyes sent a shiver down her spine. His sharp features, broad shoulders, and chiseled jaw made her gape at him. She was bought out of her stupor by his melodious voice. He coughed to get her attention.
Once he had it, he remarked ” As far as I like a regal beauty as you ogle me, I would like to know where the nearest supermarket is...“.
She was flabbergasted ...after regaining her composure she replied ” Ju. Just down the road..on the left side ” He thanked her and one last time before leaving remarked ”
I’m Mason by the way...your new neighbor assuming this is your house” to which she said “yes it is. I’m Oizys .Nice to meet you Mason” . Before he could reply she shut the door on his face.
Outside her house Mason chuckled and thought ” Oh boy..this is gonna be a tough work “Giving the closed door one last glance with a look of determination he left.
The next few days were uneventful repeating the same old greetings. Mason was getting impatient. The voice in his head urging him to make the brown haired beauty his but he was waiting for the right time.
