Got to Go

A rush of excitement flowed through my veins as I rode my bike to my friend’s house. It was such a sunny day with an especially nice breeze. It didn’t take long to arrive at Pamela’s; my friend's house.

It seemed large on the outside, but was about townhouse-sized once inside the house. I knocked, was invited in, and scurried up to her room. It was pretty modern and old at the same time. The floor was the only thing keeping it from being considered modern. It was your average apartment-brown-carpet. Everything in the room was white with black accents; it was annoying to my eyes.

We thought it’d be fun to try out some of the drugs she had magically got ahold of. Now, first of all, why are 13-year-olds trying drugs? Influence. She dug through her closet, which was located in front of the bed, about a foot away.

I was sitting on the bed, quite excited to try these drugs. Pamela set them down on the bed, right in front of me. My eyes coruscated at the sight of them and the thought of trying them. However, her mom walked into the room and I froze. She didn’t notice the drugs, but she asked what we were up to. I’m so glad Pamela’s bed was white because the drugs seemed to have blended in. I think her mom has bad eyesight even with glasses on.

I was walking my bike outside, finally leaving Pamela’s house under the black sky. If it wasn’t for all the commotion, it would’ve been difficult to notice all the people on the street.

Why the fuck was there so many people out here? This is a bit of a rural and suburban area, not many people come out here unless they live here or are passing by.

I made it to the corner of the street and was very confused. There was an abandoned-like porta potty across the street, and I’ve always wondered if anyone has actually used it and who it belonged to or who put it there.

I was in the midst of crossing the street, being wary of my surroundings when someone aggressively bumped into me. I landed in the porta potty. Ew!! Thankfully, no part of me landed on the toilet. It was all moldy, green, and humid inside. My hands had landed on either side of the toilet, and my face was almost inside the toilet. The smell that emitted from it made me throw up.

I quickly stood up and noticed something that was off in the mirror that was in there for some reason. My pupils were enlarged. I stumbled out of the porta potty and the view I saw was completely absurd. I didn’t know what to think. The sky was a dark green, and there seemed to be a fire up ahead. The swirls of the smoke with the green sky in the background was so mesmerizing to me.

That’s when it hit me: It’s a zombie apocalypse…
