Chapter 1 - Theodore doesn’t like asparagus
It was Sunday, the Madden family’s favorite day. Momma was cooking lunch and the kids were playing.
“That smells so good, Jane.” said momma’s husband, John.
“I know it does. And you wont get any if you don’t finish milking Pie” said momma with a smile. Pie was the family cow. The children named her that. They all lived on a farm.
“Yes ma’am.” said John, planting a kiss on his wife’s cheek.
They had four children. Archie was 13, Edward was 10, Theodore was 7 and Donna was 5.
They all came running in when momma called them for lunch. She poured some milk into their cups.
“Ew.” said Theodore, looking at his food. Lunch was asparagus and squash.
“Excuse me?” said momma, shocked.
“I don’t want this. It smells like Pie!” said Theodore. Archie and Edward couldn’t help but laugh. They knew he meant the cow, but it sounded like he thought it smelt like real pie.
“Uh-uh. No way you just said that about my food!” said momma.
She grabbed Theodore’s arm and got the wooden spoon.
“No, momma, please!”
