Chapter 1: Who is she?
It was another bustling, summer day at Joe Westington High School as Leslie Whitman rushed up the stairs to his classroom while dodging couples and idiots blocking the hallway. He continued across the second floor before finally reaching his classroom only to find a note on the door that read: meet in room 320. He huffed and quickly headed up the nearest stairs as quickly as he could and just as he reached the landing at the top; "bump!".He fell backward on his butt before he looked forward to see who he had hit. What he saw was a beautiful black-haired girl who was unmistakably of Asian descent. Her cheeks and skin were pale with a slight reddish hue and her body was rather small but definitely a masterpiece.
She said"I'm sorry, in a low voice while picking up her busted phone case and putting it back together. As she was doing this, he noticed a pair of black glasses in the corner and picked them up, and gave them to her, thinking they were hers. She took them, said"thanks" and hurried off before he could ask her anything else. He sat there for a few minutes, entranced; he couldn't believe how beautiful that girl was and more importantly, why he had never seen her before. Her skin was flawless and looked so smooth and pristine, for a minute he thought she was a model from a K drama or something and it was just blowing his mind.
After hearing the warning bell, he quickly hauled himself to his feet and took off for the class room and made it just in the nick of time. He quickly took his seat and pulled out his class materials even though he would get very little done. All during class his mind wafted to the beautiful girl he had bumped into and all he could think was that he wanted to see her again. He was so stuck in his thoughts that he didn't even notice his weird giggling and creepy stares. Sure Leslie was a handsome guy standing at 5'9 with curly brunette hair, soft caramel skin, and a beautiful smile that could knock the ladies out but that didn't make him completely invincible from being labeled a creep.
His behavior was so disturbing that everyone in the room was giving him a strange glare; including his friends. This continued for the next two classes he had until lunchtime arrived and he decided to look through the student database in the library. Unfortunately for him, his efforts were in vain and he ended up empty handed and also feeling like a creep.
As he logged off the computer, stood up, and made his way to the exit, something in the corner of his eye caught his attention. There; in the far corner of the library, sat the girl he'd been looking for since this morning. As he stared further, he welled up with excitement inside before quickly composing himself and walking slowly and casually over to the table where the girl was reading. He quietly took a seat which caught her attention and prompted her to close her book. She frowned and said, "May I help you?" Leslie smiled and said"I just wanted to see you again" The girl frowned and said"Well you have now so leave or I'll scream" Leslie sighed and said, "But I-I want to know your name!" She sighs and says"It's Jackie now bye".
Leslie nods, quietly gets up and leaves the table, and heads back to the lunch room, determined to become friends with her. After lunch ended and he arrived in 4th period, his friends, Jeremy and Ethan were waiting for him with serious looks. The two had known Leslie since elementary school and were his most trusted friends who were always there for him whether it be to support him or tell him about himself when needed. As he sat down, they looked at him before Ethan spoke up and said"Dude, you've been acting weird as hell all day...like what's going on with you?". Leslie sighed and said, "Well it's this girl I bumped into earlier...she was just so beautiful and I can't get her off my mind".
Jeremy looked at Leslie and said, "Dude you're out here acting like a cartoon character all because of a girl?" Leslie nodded before Ethan said"She better not be some skank or gold digger" Leslie frowned and said, "Watch your mouth before I have to put my fist in it". Ethan went wide-eyed before saying"I'm sorry...It's just-". Jeremy chimed in and said, "It's just we want to know who it is so we can tell you if she's any good or not...you know that both of us know the majority of the girls in our grade and we just want to protect you". Leslie looked at them both and said" This girl I met was definitely an Asian girl with long black hair, red glasses, and her skin was so beautiful and clear".
Ethan and Jeremy looked at each other and then back at Leslie before Jeremy finally said"Does this girl happen to be in the library around lunchtime every day?". Leslie nodded and said, "Yes, she was in the Library but I don't know about every day".Jeremy said"That's definitely Jacqueline "Jackie" Walford...she's not bad but she definitely is a piece of work, to say the least". Leslie looked at him and said "What do you mean by that?" Ethan sighed and said, "Listen carefully okay...this stuff is from ex-friends of hers and people in class with her so interpret it how you want". Leslie nodded and said, "Tell me everything".
