CHAPTER 1
Year 2007 when Jungkook's father was the captain of the firefighter department in his hometown in Busan.
(FIRE ALARM BLASTING THROUGH THE FIRE FIGHTERS DEPARTMENT)
- come on boys we have work to do!!!
Captain Jeon screamed from the top of his lungs as they others were quickly getting in their gears.
- let's go, let's go!!!
The driver said once more blasting the trucks siren, finally on the road they made it through the crowded streets since it was rush hour in the afternoon, where everyone was coming back home from work.
It felt like an eternity to make it to the location of the fire.
- the ladder, the ladder quickly.
- yes captain.
They all got to work as fast as they could, few of the guys ran inside the building, working to make sure that everyone was out.
Jungkook's dad was outside making sure that no one was trapped in the apartments.
When they thought that they had everyone evacuated, a young girl popped out of one of the windows.
- help, help me please, I'm trapped I can't get out of here!!!
- captain there is a young lady in the window on seventh floor.
- stay here make sure this fire is out I'm going for her, move the ladder to the south side of the building seventh floor please.
He called to the one on the controls, while he was already climbing up.
- captain be careful.
The girl was at the window for a brief moment but had to get off the floor because the smoke was spreading up fast.
She was coughing a lot when he made it through the window.
- where are you young one?
- (cough, cough) right here.
He looked until he found her balled up in a corner.
- why aren't you laying flat?
- I did sir but there is smoke everywhere already... (cough, cough).
- I got her I'm coming back down.
He said tryin to make it back to the window, but part of the ceiling fell blocking the window.
- well option one is out guys, I have to find option b.
He said placing his mask on her, so she could have some clean oxygen.
He opened the door to the hallway but the fire was spreading everywhere.
- come on young one we have to make our way out of here quickly, before we end up like roasted pork belly.
He bent so she could jump on his back, kicking the main door, he made his way through the corridor blindly, lights off completely making it completely dark.
- I'm scared sir.
- don't call me sir, call me captain Jeon, how old are you young one?
- fifteen sir.
- you are my son's age.
He said thinking about Jungkook.
- is he handsome sir, like you?
- he is more handsome than me.
- well I'll marry him when I grow up.
- well if that's what you want let me get you out of here first.
- and you, your wife will be mad if you don't make it home for dinner.
- you have no idea.
They were almost out.
- we are almost home free.
He said placing her back on the floor but almost at the entrance a wooden beam broke from the ceiling above them hitting him on the head.
- nooo, sir please we are almost there.
She begged in tears.
- please.
She tried to pull him but he was a big man so she turn to call for help but the other guys walked.
- captain!!
One of his members walked closer where he was laying unconscious.
- I need back up captain Jeon is unconscious, something hit him on the head.
- go on out there little one, we got this.
- is he ok?
She asked not wanting to move an inch away from him.
- he is a strong man , he will be fine.
She walked out being met by her parents, being followed by a few firefighters carrying the captain out of the building, it was almost 20 minutes before they finally got the fire under control.
- let's take the captain to the hospital now, we have to notify his family.
- will he be ok?
Y/n asked again.
- don't worry he will be.
She reached for his hand.
- please be ok, mom he saved me and got hurt.
- is not your fault, things happen, he was doing his job, what he loved to do.
Was the last thing the firefighter said before they took captain Jeon to the hospital.
- mom, can we go to see how he is?
- of course, come on we can follow them in the car.
The ambulance made it right away, taking captain Jeon accompanied by one of the guys, they drove off quickly making their way to the hospital.
- captain, you better be ok or else.
Y/n and her mother followed the ambulance to the hospital, she was sobbing buckets at this point, somehow filling guilty for what happened to captain Jeon.
Jungkook had made it home after a long day at school, when he found his mother on the phone.
- mom, I'm home.
She didn't even spare him a glance but he knew right away that something was wrong.
- mom, what's going on?
He asked as his steps lead him to her side, she didn't answer, her hand fell on her lap still holding his phone.
- your father, we need to go to the hospital, now.
- what?
He couldn't believe what he had just heard.
- there is no time to waste son, come on.
She said grabbing her purse, he walked with her to the door, putting his shoes back on.
- mom, you have to drive please calm down.
- I am, I am son, everything is going to be fine.
- right.
Soon enough they were parking at the hospital, quickly making it inside, where they quickly walked to the reception, while trying to get information about her husband, the firefighter that rode with him to the hospital walked out.
- misses Jeon.

She moved from the counter towards him.
- how is he?
- we don't know, we are waiting for someone to come and put us up to speed, but no one hasn't.
- some one better come out here and tell us how my husband is doing.
- mom, that attitude is not going to help us.
Jungkook said placing his arm on her shoulders taking her away from the reception.
- we have to wait.
- how is captain Jeon doing, is there any news about him?
Y/n walked to the firefighter to ask making Jungkook stopped talking to hear what was being said.
- no young on unfortunately there is no new yet, I promise I'll let you know when they say anything.
- ok thank you.
She said walking away again.
- who is that young lady?
- is the last victim from the fire, she was trapped in her room so he went to save her, that's how he end up here.
- that's expected from him, everyone else is before him.
- misses Jeon, he loves his job.
- too much, sometimes forgetting how dangerous it is.
- so is her fault that he is here.
Jungkook asked bitterly.
- son don't say that, is not her fault, he did what he was supposed to do.
- indeed they got trapped in the room so he had to find another way out, so most likely the path he chose wasn't the best option.
The doctor came out after a while to communicate to the family, unfortunately they couldn't save him, the hit on the head plus the smoke that crowded his lungs, he died a few hours later in the emergency room.
- noooo!!
Jungkook's mother dropped on the chair not wanting to believe the doctor's words, Jungkook held her tight not being able to hold his tears either.
- aigoo, my husband.
- I'm so sorry for the loss eommeonim.
Y/n said also sobbing buckets with the news.
- thank you young lady.
- he told me that he loved his son so much.
- well I do too but now he is gone.
Jungkook answered bitterly.
- son, there is no need to be like that.
His mother said cupping his face with her hands.
- mom, is not fair, he didn't have to die.
He said face stained with the stream of tears.
- well, he thought that she didn't need to die, she is probably around your age, so he most likely thought about you, so we should be proud of the man he was, always putting us and others before him.Start writing here…
