Low on the technicals, but a good start
"Thought I would give this a read since the genre is similar to my own work, but the setting could not be more different! The universe of the Veil is quite vibrant, full of strange races and interesting factions. The tone of the story is light, despite the premises: A rogue accepts a stowaway to their home planet named Jin on the promise of big reward, ends up attracting the attention of the cartel. I thought the pacing is quite nice and the descriptions of the races quite vivid. The strength of this story is in its interesting setting and the interaction between the characters. That said, I would caution against throwing too many technical jargons at the reader at the start. There are some interesting characters in this story - kudos to the author - focus on their lives instead! Another thing to watch out for is the technical aspect of the writing. The ellipsis is used quite liberally - and I understand this could be a character's unique speech pattern - which can have unintended consequences, such as slowing down the pace of an exciting or emotional scene (such as when characters reunite with family). Overall, I find this work a relaxing read. I would recommend reading the dialogue out loud, and pause every time there is ellipsis (.....) This way, you'll be able to determine if you're pausing too much. Good work and keep it up!"
