Prologue
The city lay empty , no lights, no people no cars, nothing. It was as if the entire place was asleep, as if it were a planned effort, one that all creatures were in on. Though the city looked to be asleep, there was still a tension present in the lifeless area. The buildings though not boarded seemed as if they were still in a way cut off from the outside world. All lights were extinguished even the moon seemed to be dimmed. The only audible sound was the low hum of the bitter wind as it ran its course through the streets, and the soft ticking of a city clock. Tick, tick, tick and then it too joined the silence, the midnight hour had begun.
The midnight hour was an extra part of the day, a part where everything, and everyone would come to a stop, a part unknown to most. All except the seekers, the ones who worked during this hour. They were the ones who were not quite human yet often not complete monsters.Seekers had powers that resembled both the creature out of nightmares and those out of the sweetest of dreams. The seekers were classified into strict groups by their usefulness and purpose. If one were to go against these groups they became outlaws, cast away from both the seeker society and somehow the real world. Though the exact fate of the outlaws are unknown, it is known that they operate under the same roles as the seekers do with the same goal, to keep the world in balance.
