Valentine de Renese est jugée pour sorcellerie, mais alors que les flammes se rapprochent de son corps, elle aperçoit un cheval ailé sur les toits, et perd connaissance. Lorsqu'elle se réveille, elle semble être en sécurité, et est forcée de suivre celui qui l'a sauvé vers un lieu où elle sera en sécurité.
