"I loved this book so much. I like their love/hate relationship. I feel like this story goes at the perfect speed, like it's not too fast or too slow, like a lot of books. Out of all the books I have read so far, I think this is my favorite. "

"Imagine this: you're minding your own business, sipping coffee that tastes like survival, when BAM — you're thrown into a slow-burn enemies-to-lovers college hockey romance so full of heat, snark, and sexual tension you might as well call it cardio. Lydia? She’s all bite and bite-me energy. Wesley? He’s got enough arrogance to power a frat house and the emotional availability of a freezer pizza. And together? They’re a glorious dumpster fire of banter, betrayal, and very questionable decision-making (which we love them for, obviously). This book gets the assignment. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel — it just straps it to a hockey stick and shoves it into your heart. The dual POVs are sharp and addictive, with Lydia giving me “emotionally competent chaos queen” and Wes exuding “I’m angry but secretly soft” vibes like it’s his full-time job (which it is, next to hockey and being infuriatingly hot). What worked: ✔️ Pacing that smacks you in the face — in a good way ✔️ Satisfying steam with a side of plot ✔️ Delightfully petty revenge and jaw-clenching emotional stakes ✔️ Lydia being the stubborn, sarcastic woman of my dreams ✔️ Wes's growth arc from “walking red flag” to “maybe emotionally literate golden retriever” What I wanted more of (because I’m greedy): ❄️ Actual hockey tension. Let me feel the stakes on the ice! The games were more like vibes in the background while the characters strutted around in jerseys like runway models with unresolved trauma. I wanted bruises, game tension, last-minute goals — give me that sweaty desperation, not just locker-room foreplay. Verdict? This is the book equivalent of shouting “fuck you” and “I love you” in the same breath while wearing a crop top in sub-zero weather. If you’re into college romance, alpha energy, slow-burn tension, and a heroine who could absolutely beat you at beer pong and moral debates — this one's for you. And yes, I will be reading book two, because clearly my emotional health is optional."

Heartwarming perfect college hockey romance
"I love the writing style and the dual pov, bonus it's an enemies to lovers romance. My favorite trope. The characters are flawless in execution with deep back stories that grip your heart. I love how the author managed to get you emotionally hooked on these two characters from the opening scene, and for the long slow burn. You just can't get enough of these two and I love how Lydia despite everything she has gone through is so strong. And Wes, well how can you dislike a cinnamon roll mmc. He's sweet, adorable and has a heart of gold especially where Lydia is concerned. His character is well rounded and the empathy he displays for Lydia when he finds the truth out is heartwarming. This is a lovely story of young adult love, not dictated by too many or ott adult content. Brilliant banter that will make you laugh. I'm looking forward to reading book2 Kerry Kennedy Author "
