What is Finding You?
Finding You. features characters from the series Merlí and its Italian adaptation, Un Professore.
The story is set four years after the events of Merlí: Sapere Aude Season 1 and two years after Un Professore Season 1. It’s told mainly through Pol (Merlí) and Manuel’s (Un Professore) perspectives as they’re at a crossroads in each of their lives. And it’s through these crossroads that their paths converge.
Pol has lost direction in his life. He expected life to be easy; that he would be Merlí 2.0 after studying Philosophy in university. But instead, he’s working at a dead-end job and living an unfulfilling life.
Meanwhile, Manuel has become a recluse. After his mentor’s death, he’s had a difficult time coping with what happened. He blames himself for what happened. On a downward spiral, he goes to alcohol and fights, anything just to not be reminded of his sadness.
Their two stories intertwine when Pol decides to go to Rome to look for Bruno who has cut him off and has been missing from his life for four years. This decision takes both Manuel and Pol in an excruciating journey of self-discovery as they go through the streets of Rome to find whatever it is they’re actually looking for.
If you’re triggered by the themes mentioned above, I would advice that you read carefully. There many other brilliant Simuel and Brunol fan fictions out there.
