6 AM (Intro)
I remembered, it was six a.m. when we arrived to where my grandfather said I would be able to see my father at. But it was a dingy motel with flickering lights. We drove what felt like hours just to come to this middle-of-nowhere-no-street-lamp-gravel-road-and-sketchy-place-motel… where my father was supposed to be.
Why was he here and not at the house he said he had? Why didn’t he just come home if he had nowhere to stay?
How come he left my mom and I?
Why did he leave in the first place?
Room 13C. It had a cute little welcome sign on the front, it stands out to me when I think back because it looked like it had a finger print on it, but with all the bad lighting I could not tell if it was black or red paint, ink, or even worse... blood.
"Tell me something..." My grandfather said. "Do you resent your father?"
