Prologue
I am a child of the desert, born from the fiery sands and relentless sun. A product of its volatility, of its vast expanse of shifting dunes and scorching winds. With every step I take, the grains of sand whisper ancient tales of the survival of my people.
My skin is kissed by the sun, tempered to a dusky honeyed glow by the unforgiving elements. My eyes, like the endless horizon, hold the secrets of a thousand sunsets. In the blistering heat, I dance with the desert winds, my movements fluid and graceful. My soul is one with the sand, my footsteps leaving imprints that vanish as quickly as they appear. As quickly as I will disappear.
He is the King of the desert. Master of the countless dangers that lurk beneath the surface, waiting to ensnare the unwary traveler. He possesses an unparalleled mastery over the desert’s fury. Capable of taming the untamed, bending the desert to his will. Just as he has subdued my heart, trapping it in his web of lies and deceit.
I am his bride…fated to die by his hand.
