What to Expect
👋 Hello and welcome back to Lockwood Creek!
Whether you’ve been here since Sealed Hearts or you’ve somehow stumbled into my little corner of the internet today, thank you for giving this story a chance.
Before we get started, here’s the important stuff.
🤍Can this be read as a standalone?
Absolutely!
While Beating Hearts is part of the Lockwood Creek Next Generation series, each book is written so it can be enjoyed on its own. You’ll probably spot familiar faces, family members, and references to previous events, but you do not need to have read any of the earlier books to follow Delilah’s story.
That said... if you have read Tell Tale Hearts, you might find yourself carrying a few extra feelings into this one. 😉
🤍What kind of story is this?
This is a Southern romance and a love triangle. (Might also be a scene or two of sharing MFM.)
There are no villains standing between the main characters. No evil exes. No secret bad guys pulling the strings.
Just three people trying to navigate life, love, mistakes, second chances, and impossible choices.
At its heart, this is a story about love, heartbreak, forgiveness, and discovering that sometimes life doesn’t go according to plan.
🤍Content Notes
This story contains adult themes, sexual content, strong language, emotional conflict, heartbreak, and situations intended for mature readers.
As always, my characters occasionally have mouths that would make their grandmothers reach for the soap.
This book is intended for readers aged 18+.
🤍A Note About The South
Y’all know by now I have a soft spot for Southern charm.
The characters in this series are Southern born and raised, so expect plenty of regional phrases, sayings, sarcasm, and small-town energy sprinkled throughout the story.
If I’ve accidentally butchered a phrase somewhere along the way, feel free to let me know. I’ve learned a lot from readers over the years and I’m always happy to learn more.
🤍Updates
My goal is usually one a week, but real life occasionally likes to remind me it’s in charge. If updates slip now and then, please know I’m still working away behind the scenes.
And finally...
If you’re enjoying the story, please consider leaving a comment or a vote. Most of us write because we love telling stories, and hearing that readers are enjoying them genuinely means the world.
Now enough of me talking.
Grab a sweet tea, settle in, and welcome to Delilah’s story.
Love,
Chrissy xo
