Prologue
Throughout our lives, we undergo a range of experiences that have the power to shape us in various ways. For me, Nigeria holds a unique significance. While many people choose to leave the country, I have always felt a strong connection to it and knew that I needed to return. Despite the challenges that I anticipated, I yearned to come to terms with my past and find a sense of peace.
Although some may assume that my desire to return to Nigeria was purely rooted in my birthplace, it was much more than that. I needed to confront the ghosts of my past and find closure. Growing up in Nigeria was not easy, and I faced many challenges that left deep scars. But rather than running away from them, I wanted to confront them and find a way to heal.
Through this experience, I learned that facing our challenges head-on can be scary but is ultimately worth it. By confronting our fears and embracing our past, we can gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and find a sense of peace that we never thought possible.
