"What an emotional rollercoaster this was 🔥Packed to the brim with suspense, thrilling action, and deeply emotional moments. Plus a lovely romance side plot that weaves underneath it all. There’s so many twists and turns, terrifying people and wonderful ones. The premise immediately grabs you. Then the characters worm into your heart and never leave. Even the ones you hate, you still feel something for them, and they’re all complex. The writer is truly gifted in creating characters that leap off the page. They all have motivations and histories that colour them in the story. I loved to hate on some, loved to cheer for the rest. Lola is a fantastic main character. She’s clever, resourceful, resilient, and brave. She’s strong and does what she has to despite her fears. Her new life begins with a lot of confusion and terror. It’s all systems go from there. The cast of core characters Chris, Lucas, Claire, Juliette, Ella, Carole, and the others are wonderfully diverse. The author gives makes them all feel real. Human. In that, the emotional scenes hit hard. Gorgeously written and described. You’re immersed totally in the book, like it’s a movie, and the plot grips you and never lets you go. Such evil people in this book! But they don’t think that of themselves. It’s very well done. I enjoyed every moment I spent reading it. I highly recommend reading this incredible book.
