DISTURBING

We just finished paying our beer tab at the Dirty Robber. We both had two beers and on our way to meet the gang for dinner at a fish and chips restaurant which is well known.

" Maura follow me but not too close since it's pouring hard.  We will leave your car at my place. Mine will be better if we come across huge and deep puddles. Please change out of your heels into your tennis shoes. No one will care if your shoes don't go well with your outfit."

We run as quickly as we can to our vehicles without making ourselves slip or fall on the pavement.  I wait for Maura to change her shoes.  She honks her horn to tell me she is ready.  I pull out with my lights and windshield wipers on. It takes us about twenty-five minutes to arrive at my place.  Maura finds a place to park and locks her car. I open my passenger door from the inside so she can get in. We take off. We are singing to a Mariah Carey song both of off-key.  I drive for twenty more minutes until I find a place to park. I lucked out. A person was pulling out when I drove up. I turn my blinker on to allow others to know I am going to park. I parallel park and we both get out.  I hit my fob and my doors lock. We run inside and look for the rest of the gang. We spot them and they are waiting for us.

" Sorry, it took so long. I had Maura drop off her car at my place. We lucked by getting  a parking place directly in front of here."  " Partner we all just got here a little while ago. We ordered some pitchers of beer."  " Frost thank you. Maura and I  will order some hot tea. We had two beers at the Dirty Robber on an empty stomach. I don't want to get pulled over and have to do a test. Plus Cavanagh will blow a gasket."

Maura gets the man's attention when she takes off her coat. We all notice. We would have to be blind if we didn't. Maura is a very attractive and wealthy doctor thanks to her adoptive paternal grandmother leaving her millions.   Maura doesn't flaunt her money.  The only reason we know is the designer labels she wears.   She orders us two glasses of water and hot tea with local honey for the sweetness.  Everyone else is sipping on their beers. We order fish and chips. The waiter leaves and returns with my and Maura's drinks. We both take a sip of the hot tea to warm up a little.   We join the conversation. This weekend we are all going skiing on Sunday. It's snowing a lot. We all got a room at the ski lodge for a few days. It's Kiki, Vincent,  Barry, Nina, Frankie, Laura Maura and myself.  Maura just recently broke up with Joe. I ended my engagement with Casey.  Maura is the only one who knows it. He left to continue with his tour. I had a miscarriage and we both were devastated. Neither of us knew the gender.  I wasn't far enough to determine the gender. It was the size of a dime when I had a miscarriage.  Maura told me as well as my mother, Angela, that many people lose their child in the very first few weeks. 

Our food arrives and we begin to eat.

"Sis's mom wants to have Saturday dinner at Maura's main house. She will be making Nani Rizzoli ravioli with focaccia bread and family salads. She expects all of us to be there by four unless you're sick. Cavanagh has been invited too. They are dating one another ."  "MA please don't say anymore.  He is our boss except for Maura. "

" Sis I chose this place because of the food but also so we can all throw axes. "

I  nodded my head as I swallowed a piece of fish.

We all are done in an hour and a half.  We walk to the ax area and sign the liability disclosure and our names. We wait our turn.  I ordered Maura a glass of wine and myself a beer.
