Have you ever heard the story of Adam and Eve? Iโ€™m sure most of us have but Iโ€™ll give a small summary of it.

Adam and Eve could have everything they wanted, yet the only thing they couldnโ€™t have was the forbidden fruit.

As though it seemed easy enough, Eve was tempted by the forbidden fruit and took a bite.

Thatโ€™s what I felt.

I was tempted, I sinned and he was the tempter.

I could put the blame all on him but that wouldnโ€™t be fair since I played a part as his sinner.

It couldโ€™ve all been stopped had I seen the signs sooner than expected.

He was timid.

He was sweet.

He was perfect.

But perfection doesnโ€™t exist, and he had fooled me into thinking that he was perfect. It was all just a hoax, a facade to hide behind what truly lies within him.

And the fact that I fell for it shows that he knows how to play with his victims.

How could Iโ€™ve let this happen?

Why didnโ€™t I run away when I had the opportunity to?

I was too attached to him, too obsessed, too in love.

I was Eve and he was my forbidden fruit.

Lylianna

Four Years Ago

โ€œCongratulations Lylianna! I canโ€™t believe youโ€™re married to such a snobby bastard!โ€ My sister says as she nudges my arm.

Rolling my eyes, I let out a sarcastic sigh at her joke. Of course, sheโ€™d say something like that.

โ€œIt sounds like youโ€™re just jealous that I got to meet a good man unlike you who got divorced, twice.โ€

She slaps my arm playfully while I let out a chuckle.

I had met Amos at a party his friend hosted. His friend was introducing me to him and we clicked instantly. He loved music, reading, and surprisingly knitting. After a year of dating that man, Amos finally popped the question on a warm sunny beach in California.

Amos was the perfect man anyone could ask for, strong, loyal, caring and so much more. Any good qualities you name his are exactly that. Itโ€™s as if he had come from a book.

Strong jawline, stunning electric blue eyes, and fluffy jet black hair that could make a girl swoon instantly. I did hit the jackpot, didnโ€™t I?

But even someone as perfect as he came with a flaw.

His son, Zaxton

Donโ€™t get me wrong, I adore children and always wanted cute little kids running around ever since I was young. I donโ€™t even hate the kid.

He hates me!

I have no clue why but anytime he even takes a glance at me, that god-awful glare appears on his face and then the moody thing walks away immediately.

Iโ€™ve kept some distance from him but at one point I did try to bond with him, but he told me to piss off so that was the last time I said anything to him.

This will be awkward since Iโ€™m going to be his stepmother. Maybe he just hates me because Iโ€™m replacing his mother who left? Possibly, itโ€™s pretty common for kids to feel like that.

Well, I hope to god that he doesn't hate me forever.

โ€œMy lovely wife, itโ€™s time we take a family photo,โ€ Amos says.

I nod and take his hand as he guides me to the Photo Booth where Zaxton sits. He looks even more grumpy than usual. As expected from a typical fifteen-year-old.

I take a seat next to him while my husband stands behind us, placing his hands on Zaxton and Iโ€™s shoulders.

โ€œSmile my heart,โ€ Amos says with a smile brighter than the sun itself.

I chuckle at the nickname he gave me before placing my hand on Zaxtons, causing him to shiver.

Am I really that disgusting to him?

Nevertheless, I ignored his obvious uneasiness and smiled at the large camera that was pointing toward us.

โ€œSay cheese.โ€ The photographer says.

The camera clicks and Iโ€™m flashed with the brightness of the lights. I may be permanently blind after this.

After that exhausting wedding, we finally arrived at Amosโ€™s manor to take a break from the commotion and presents that had buried us during the ceremony.

I had changed out of my wedding dress into a silk navy blue dress while my light brown locks were released and draped over my shoulders from the tight bun.

When I stepped out of the limo, green eyes locked on my amber ones. I gaze over to see Zaxton eyeing me, not with disdain but with something else.

Before I could decipher, Amos moved out of the car to hold my waist and guide me inside the manor.

Why was he looking at me like that?

That was oddโ€ฆ despite that, I shook my head and entered the manor where my husband decided to carry me bridal style up the imperial staircase.

I will never understand that boy.

Amos kicks the door open and slides in with a smile.

โ€œFinally,โ€ his eyes meet mine, โ€œI have you for myself.โ€

He ever so carefully drops me onto the master bed, where my body sinks into the mattress. With a giggle, I wrap my arms around his shoulders and bring him into a kiss.

Amos's hands move from my neck to my back, pushing himself further into me. He trails his lips to my neck, leaving light feathered kisses and bites which make me moan. I closed my eyes just for a second to enjoy the burning sensation that was building up. Once I opened them again though, I wish I didnโ€™t.

In the corner of my eye, I see bright green eyes that are peeping at me through the crack of the door. It makes me freeze and causes my desire to die down in an instant.

Raven black hair hangs from the creak of the door. I could barely see him, his brows furrowed, full of scornfulness. I knew who carried that look.

Zaxton.
