I sat with my head propped on my hand as I yawned. "Cara!" Snapped Lindsey. My eyes fluttered to her and I shrugged. "Hm?" I mumbled tapping a pencil against the table. "Aren't you going to stick up for me." She pondered.
"You have a mouth, stand up for yourself. I'm to tired...and bored." Standing up, I smiled at her and started walking out of the room.
I'd had enough of always being the middle man with people. Lindsey was one of them.
As I walked out the door I felt a hand wrap around my wrist.
"Hey what?" I turned around to see what caught my hand. I paused, looking into the eyes of what -my mind called- a beauty.
"What was that? Isn't she your girlfriend?" The beauty questioned me.
"She is. However, shes also dating a million others. It won't last." I responded dryly. The man let go of my hand and stepped back, raising his eyebrows. "Whats your name?" He asked. "Uh Scarlett."
He smiled in response. A girl who looked about my age walked up tugging on his hoodie. "K!!" He appeared annoyed and amused.
My heart sank, watching him and the girl. -Why, I don't know- "Is she your girlfriend?" I asked curiously.
He laughed and she turned her head to me. Blonde, short -shorter than me- and had an obvious temper.
"No she is not." He replied with another small laugh.
I looked at her and extended my hand. "Hey, I'm Scarlett." She grabbed my hand rather shyly and nodded. "Addy..." She mumbled before adding, "I'm K's best friend." She let go of my hand quickly and I smiled to myself.
"Oh thats- thats nice." I said slightly relieved. Looking up my eyes caught his and I quickly looked down. "Well I gotta go, see y'all later?" I asked becore walikg away, not waiting for a response.
My phone was going off like crazy later that day and i picked it up, annoyed at the constant notification sounds and just annoyed in general.
Girls GC:
Naomi: 👀 Guys I think I saw Cara blushing today
Britt: Blushing?! Cara?! No way lol
Kathy: 😶 Who could get her blushing
Naomi: Exactly my thought!
Rainy: Well isn't she dating someone?
Kathy: Their gonna break up
Me: What?! I wasn't blushing 😂
Naomi: GIRL YES YOU WERE!!!
Me: Whatever, I was just hot, I wasn't blushing.
Alexis left the chat
I turned off my phone and sighed. -Those girls have got to get a life- I thought before going back to work. Or trying to... I couldn't stop thinking about him.
I'd only known him for such a short time, and yet he was stuck in my head.
-Don't forget he doesn't even know your real name-I groaned trying to brush my thoughts aside.
Later that night as I was trying to get into bed my mind couldn't stop racing.
-I wonder if he's single?-
I shook my head and smiled to myself.
-No way, he's too hot-
Pulling my shirt down and putting shorts on I layed in my bed. It was 3AM and I absolutely couldn't sleep.
Laying there as my mind raced I looked at the ceiling. "I should have gotten his number." I spoke aloud. "Ugh why didn't I?!" I tossed and turned all night before I finally fell asleep.
