The Fun Night
It was a dark stormy night, I was in an old abandoned building with my friends. There were four of us all together. We were in a room with some candles lit in a big circle to light up the room. The four of us were sitting in a square shape inside the circle. In the middle there was a ouija board. We all stared down at it. “Are we actually going to do this?” Katie asked. “Well we are going to do this but if you’re too scared then you can just leave.” Julia replied. “That's mean!” Sophia snapped. “Well if Katie isn’t going to do it with us then there's no point of her being here.” I said. I reached my hand out above the ouija board. “Who is going to do this with me?” Julia put her hand over the board, then Sophia, but Katie just looked at us. We sat there looking at her for a moment and then she slowly lifted her hand and then put it over the board with the rest of us. We all said the prayers that came with the board. When we were done we all slowly lowered our hands and each placed 1 finger onto the planchet. We slowly moved the planchet in a circle around the board and then back to the middle.
“Is there a spirit here with us tonight?” Julia asked, but nothing happened. We thought that we must have done something wrong but then the planchet slowly started moving and stopped on the word yes. Katie looked up at us, “who moved it? It wasn’t doing anything before and now it suddenly started moving ""I didn’t move it '' Julia, Sophia, and I all said at the same time. “Well if no one moved it then who did? Just admit to it already or I'm leaving.'' The 3 of us just looked at Katie silently. Katie rolled her eyes then took her finger off of the planchet. Once her fingers left the planchet there was a huge strike of lightning outside the window and a loud bang of thunder. Katie screamed, she got up and ran out of the room. Julia and Sophia laughed when Katie ran away.
“Show us a sign that you are here with us,” I said. The planchet then moved all around the board. “Hi, my name is Justine,” we all read as the planchet moved to all the letters. After spelling that out the planchet went back to the middle. There was a loud screech causing all of us to cover our ears in pain. The windows and doors were flooding the room with cold air. When the horrible sound stopped we all realized, in the ruckus everyone took their finger off the planchet. We all looked down at the planchet as it made its way to each letter. “I am free now” I read. “You released my soul and now I can go anywhere I want” Julia read. “I will always find you, your friend Katie is first” Sophia read. I look up at my 2 friends in the room with me. They were both deadly pail. You could tell that they were terrified, and so was I. We all sat there in silence until all or a sudden there was a sound of something being dragged. We looked over and saw that there was a table sliding across the room. It was coming towards us fast.
“WATCH OUT” Julia yelled as we all moved out of the way on the table. CRASH, the table slammed against the wall and broke. We were all terrified and tried to get out of there. We ran out of the room that we were in leaving the ouija board and everything behind. We ran to the door that we entered through to get into the building but it wouldn’t open. We all turned and ran while the other was trying to find a way out. We ran all over the place then we found ourselves in a kitchen. There was a big window in the kitchen. Without saying anything we all looked at eachother then ran to the window having all had the same idea. We ran towards the window but stopped, hearing the sound of something sharp being dragged close to us we all froze. None of us moved but then when it was getting closer we all ducked out of the way just in time for a large kitchen knife to go flying right into the window. There was a big hole in the window. We ran up to it and began clearing the broken glass away. When the broken shards of glass were cleared off the window frame we all had small cuts all over our hands. We went up to the window and went out one by one. First Julia went out, and I went out, and finally Sophia. When we were all out we all started running towards Katie's house since her house was close to where we were.
When we got to Julia's house we ran into the door without knocking. The noise caused Katie's parents to come out. “What are you all doing here?” Katie’s mom asked. “And where is Katie?” Katie’s dad added. We all looked at eachother. “Katie left to come home around an hour ago,” I said. Katie’s parents called the police to help find Katie since she never got home. The police found Katie walking out of the abandoned house about 15 minutes later after they got there. It turns out thatKatie didn’t actually leave but instead stayed there to try and scare us. She was the one that screamed and made us take our fingers off the planchet and she is the one that slid the table across the room right at Julia, Sophia, and I. Katie was also the person that threw the knife towards us that broke the window. Turns out that it was just a fake knife. It was hard but it wasn’t sharp. When Katie found out that we left the building she left too. She apologized to us about what she did. We all slept at Katie's house that night. After that night we never touched a ouija board again and we never went to another abandoned building since we were scared because of what happened that night.
