Chapter 1
I turned left as I heard Kai calling my name to grab my attention. Yes the tall blonde guy is him. Kai said, “You are late again.” “I came here as fast as I got your message.”,I replied him breathing heavily after running.
He is my younger twin brother Kai Beckett. The favourite one and my life savior. He always takes my side during any argument and will do anything for me. Kai said, “Let's go inside the cafe.
Everyone are waiting for us.” We walked inside the cafe towards our friends. We went towards our friends and I saw Zoe Butler.
I hissed towards my friends, “You told me that she will not come here. How can you lie to me.” Bella said, “We didn't called her. You know she is in our group chat right. She must have seen the message.”
Zoe shouted, “I am also Freya’s friend. I have the right to come here too. If you have any problem with me you are free to go home.” I angrily turned back towards the exit when Kai stopped me and hushed, “Stop it, you guys. You know right that we came here to accompany Freya.”
Freya is our friend who has recently sad after her boyfriend dumped her for another girl. We decided to meet her and accompany her to make her happy. I stopped and sat down.
We were trying to make her happy. Zoe said, “Maybe we should go somewhere and forget about him. And I always knew he is not the one for her. Jackson said, “That's a brillient plan. I have a log home in the nearby forest. We can stay there. I guess my parents will allow it.”
Kai said, “Nice. So it's decided that we will go to Jackson’s log home, right.” Everyone said yes. Freya stopped crying and asked me, “Why do you have some red hair. Didn't you told us that it will disappear after few years.”
Everybody started looking at Freya as she reminded me of my red hair. I answered that maybe it is permanant and will not turn back to black. And I know exactly who to blame for this looking straightly at Zoe.
At first, I had black hair which suited my facial looks and I looked handsome but then a incident happened and my some of my hair turned red. But now some part of my hair is red and rest is black.
Zoe yelled at me, “I didn't do anything. It was Stiles fault. He pushed me down the stairs when I was five years old and I just had my revenge.” I argued back, “This is what you call revenge. Coming quietly at night making no sound, taking a test tube from my basement with some chemicals in it and spilling it on my hair.”
Zoe said, “Yes. I call it revenge. My way is different from others. And it's nothing like my scar which you gave me when you pushed me down the stairs. I still have it on my head. I never pushed her. It was an accident. We were five years old. We were playing with our toys.
Zoe was playing with my favourite toy which I never gave to anyone. I wanted it back so she ran away and I was running back to take it back. We were near stairs and I took my toy but she slipped and fell down the stairs and that's when Zoe’s and my mom came home.
They thought that it was my fault. Everyone shouted at me. And I was grounded for a whole week. Bella said, “You guys stop fighting. You do this all the time. Zoe, no one will be able to see your scar. You have big black hair and have beautiful face. And Stiles, you look better in this hair too.”
I said to Bella, “You mean boys will fall for Zoe’s beauty or you mean boys will fall down by seeing her horrible face. She doesn't look good. And I can still see the scar on her head.” Zoe gets angry and walks towards the exit saying, “I will meet you guys tomorrow. We will discuss our trip tomorrow at school. Ok, Bye.”
Next day at school we met at canteen. We sat at one corner and started our discussion for the trip. Kai started the conversation by saying, “Do you think our parents will allow us to go on a trip. I mean we are just 16 years old.”
Zoe says, “We will lie to our parents and tell them that Jackson’s parents will be there.” I replied, “Ofcourse you are best at lying.” Freya says, “Don't start again.” Bella says, “Today is Thursday. We will meet tomorrow after school and go to Jackson’s log home.
We will enjoy our weekend at log house.” I said, “It is a good idea” as it will be a 3 days trip for us. “Can I also come with you guys on this trip”, asked by Alex. I asked him, “Who are you?” Kai said, “I know him. He is in my basket ball team.”
Freya said, “Okay, you can come with us. But where will you meet tomorrow?” Alex said, “We can meet at station.” Everyone agreed. After reaching home from school I was planning on how to ask my mom for the permission.
That when a message popped up on my phone. Freya messaged on the group chat that she got the permission for the trip. I waited for few minutes. Another message from Zoe that she also got the permission. After few time, Kai returned home from his basket ball match.
He asked me, “Did you asked for the permission?” I answered, “No” with a sad face. I said, “We will ask together and mom always listens to you.” We slowly went downstairs to our basement. Our mom was working on a new experiment as she is a scientist.
Mom saw us and asked, “What do you want now?” Kai asked, “Our friends are going on a trip on this weekend to Jackson’s log home. They were asking us to come. So can we go with them.” Mom said, “You two are very young on this trip.” I said, “Jackson's parents will also be there.” Mom said, “If they will be there then yes, you can go.”
We got happy and went straight to our home. I messaged in the group chat that Kai and I got the permission.” Next day we went to station. We were waiting for others. Finally everyone came at 12 pm. We catched the train and sat down and that's when our journey starts. Jackson says, “I have cards. Does anyone want to play?” Everyone said yes.
We played cards and ate some snacks during our journey. At last we reached our destination. I asked Jackson, “You said that there will be forest everywhere. I don't see it.” Jackson says, “We will need to take a bus and then walk for some time.” Freya says, “It will be fun. Let's go fast.” We took a bus and later I could see the forests and mountains.
We took off the bus. Jackson started to guide us to his log home. Bella asked, “You never told us you had a log home.” Jackson replied, “I came here every vacation. Maybe you never listened to my stories.”
It was 4 pm and we reached at his log home. Jackson said everyone to rest for some time and we will go out later. Everyone went upstairs to change and rest for few time. Kai and I were not tired. We decided to go out and explore a little bit. We went out. We were going straight but couldn't find anything weird.
I saw a cave that went deep down. I wanted to go down and explore it. Kai was scared and told me that it can be dangerous. I said to Kai, “You wait here and I will go explore inside.” I went deep inside. It was dark everywhere but I had flashlight on my phone. I could hear some noises of animal.
The cave got divided into two different ways. I entered the left side. Kai was waiting outside for too long. He entered the cave searching for me. I walked forward to explore it. That's when I saw someone. I walked towards him.
That's when I heard Kai’s voice. I looked back. I went backwards to find him. Kai was coming forward but he entered the right side of the cave. I was going backwards to find him. I was following his voice and I entered the other side of the cave and found Kai.
Kai said, “It's getting late. Let's go back. I agreed and we were getting out from the cave. We were moving towards Jackson’s log home but we got lost in the forest. When we were searching for Jackson’s log home, we found out some more caves. We didn't look forward to it. We started to find Jackson’s log home.
It was getting dark. Everyone were wondering where were Kai and I. They started to find us in the forest. They were shouting our names in the forest with a torch.
They got split to find us easily and quicker. We could hear the noises of our friends. We were following the voice. Suddenly I heard Freya screaming. Kai and I started running towards her voice. I saw a wolf staring at Freya. Freya was very scared.
I caught the Wolf's attention by throwing a stone on him. I told Freya to run away. The wolf was very angry and hungry. The wolf was moving towards me. Kai and I started running fast. The wolf didn't leave us. He started howling. More wolves came near us.
We got scared as we were surrounded by wolves. There were no place to escape. Kai said, “We need to scare them.” I replied, “Only fire can save us. There is no fire nearby.” Then I saw someone in dark clothes. I couldn't saw the face as it was dark. Suddenly there was fire near us. We were shocked. Kai exclaimed, “What's happening!”
I was shocked too. I said, “I don't know whats happening but the wolves are going away.” The fire vanished unexpectely. It was very dark so we used flashlight and move forward to search for our friends. I told Kai not to tell anyone about the fire. We found them after some time. Bella said, “Are you guys alright? Freya said that a wolf was chasing you.”
I said that we are alright now. Zoe said, “Are you both nuts? Who goes near wolves. They could have attacked you.” I said, “But nothing happened.” Zoe said, “Come on guys, let's go back to log and eat something. I am very hungry.” Alex said, “She is right.” We moved towards the log.
When we reached the log, Alex asked, “Who is making dinner for us?” Zoe said, “Stiles know how to cook. He can cook for us.” I replied with yes. Bella and Kai were coming behind me to help me with cooking. We entered the kitchen and started to gather the ingredients. We decided to make Spaghetti and Macaroni along with some salad.
While others were playing UNO and eating some chips. I could clearly see them from the kitchen. Kai started to boil the spaghetti and Macaroni. Bella was chopping some vegetables. I decided to help her. We chopped some onions, tomotoes and garlic. I decided to heat the oil. I added the hot sauce and chopped vegetables in it.
I could hear the talk from outside. I was peeking outside. I saw that Zoe started to cough. Alex grab the glass and gave her drink it. I was getting angry seeing it. Suddenly the flames on the pan got high. I took the pan up and it was good that no one saw it except Kai. He quitely came towards me and in a low voice said, “What are you doing?” I said, “I don't know.” I was getting jealous that Alex was getting close to Zoe.
I added the boiled Spaghetti and Kai cooked the Macaroni. Bella and Kai started to prepare salad. I added the spices to the Spaghetti. The fragrance of the spices was spread everywhere. It was almost 8 pm and dinner was ready. Everyone were very excited for it. Jackson said, “It looks so delicious. Can't wait to eat it.” We started eating dinner. We talked about our school jokes and complaints of our teacher and finished our dinner. Bella said, “So who is going to wash the dishes.” Kai said, “We have already cooked the dinner so it's not going to be us.” Zoe said, “Alright, I will do it.” Alex replied, “I will help you then.” I was getting jealous that they are spending time together. When they entered the kitchen, suddenly Zoe’s phone started to ring. She pick up and it was her mom who was worried about her. I was happy that they are not washing dishes together. Freya said, “I will help Alex.” And she moves towards the kitchen. Few seconds later Zoe comes with an sad face. Kai asks, “What happened? You looks sad.” Zoe says that her network is not working properly. I said, “We are in the middle of forest. How will network work here. You can call your mom later.” Zoe said, “I didn't asked for your advice.” Freya said, “It's late now. Let's sleep.” Jackson says, “Who sleeps during weekend.” Zoe asked, “What do you mean?” Jackson said, “Let's do some horror storytelling. It will be fun.” Bella and I agreed to it. So we all gathered and formed a circle and one by one started to tell each other horror stories. It was almost 3 am. Zoe said, “Let's do some other things.” Kai suggested to play Ouija board as a joke. Zoe loved the idea and insisted us to play it. At 3 am, we started to call the spirits. We all chartered, “If there are any spirits near us then give us a sign.” We did this again and again but nothing happened. We didn't gave up. Time passed away. Freya said, “Nothing happening.” Alex said, “Maybe there are no ghosts nearby.” I said, “Maybe spirits got scared by Zoe’s face and ran away.” She said, “It's too funny. Maybe it's fake. Let's sleep now.” We all agreed as it was almost 3:30 am. We went back to our rooms and slept.
