Prologue

15 year old Bently Ryan was with his best friend Cain the night of Bently's 15th birthday party. Bently seemed pretty nervous, as Cain held out a bottle of whiskey. "Are..are you sure?" The boy nervously asked. Cain slightly nodded. "Go ahead. Just a sip. If you don't like it then just spit it out." The other boy told him. Bently nervously put the bottle to his lips, and took a small sip. He actually liked it.

After a few drinks, both Bently and Cain were drunk. Cain got an idea. A bad idea. "Hey...hey Ben...we should try smoking too" Cain said, pulling out a lighter. Bently took the lighter and lit it, examining the flame. As he examines the flame, Cain accidentally knocks the lighter out of his hand, starting a fire. "Shit!" Bently yells, starting to look around for something to put the fire out with. He grabbed what he thought was a water bottle, but was actually a bottle of whiskey. Without thinking, Bently poured the whiskey on the fire. It was only after he'd poured it that he realized what he'd done. "Run Ben. Just go." Cain said through coughs. Bently did as told, and never looked back.

No one believed Bently. Not even his own father. "I didn't do it! I would never murder Cain he was my best friend!!" Bently cried, tears streaming down his face. "I'm sorry kid. But all evidence points to you as the murderer." A police officer told him. "No...no please! I didn't do it!!" Bently yelled. "You will be sent to a reform school until you're proven guilty." The police officer tells him. "B-but-" Bently starts. His dad interrupts. "It's what's best for you, love. You could've been arrested but we decided this option was best." He tells him. Bently sighs. "Fine. But just so you know, I didn't kill him."
