Galloping Major
"This is a bright tale of life after austerity in Ireland and a worthy sequel to its racier predecessors, although it still retains the ability to quicken the pulse and stiffen you in the chair. Aoife's now heartbroken after going on 'a break' with Chris, in which time he's knocked up the dangerously-vulnerable Angela. Ironically, while the protagonist and her younger lover temporarily split on the issue of fertility - he wanted kids, she had her fill - he inadvertently sowed his seed elsewhere. Or did he? The first-person narrator struggles to think of others while stoically continuing to thrust herself further into sexual set-ups, this time under the guise of 'research' for a book which may be porn and may be literotica. Either way - from female-heavy orgies with her bisexual friend, to dolling herself up, with meat attached, as a transsexual to gain access to a gay barrel-bonking - Brennan continues to entertain and titillate readers, all the while bringing them along with deeper insights into her family life and relationships with her offspring, best pal and various other interlopers into what's described as a mundane life but, in reality, is anything but."
