Chapter 1: pregnant
The world felt like a cold, desolate, and relentless cage. I slept and woke up in a haze of pain and exhaustion, I checked the time and rushed to the bathroom to take my bath and dress up. I checked the time again and found out I'm five minute late to the pack house.
I rushed downstairs to prepare breakfast for my mate Tony before waking him up.
Once I was done preparing breakfast for Tony I went back upstairs to wake him up
“Tony,Tony"
“what!!!"he shouted “why can't i get a good sleep in this house"
“am so... so.. sorry"I said “i wanted to tell you that breakfast is ready"I said
“okay I've heard”he said
“and"
“And what"he shouted"
“sor....sorr...sorry"i stammered
“ What"
“am on my way to the pack house " I said
“and how is that my business be gone but bring my food to the room first"he said getting up from the bed
"okay" I said
“And I hope you made me some pork loin"he asked
“i forgot am sorry" I said.
"Can you stop telling me sorry,go get me my food"
“Okay".
I rushed to the kitchen to quickly prepare the pork loin.
I grabbed a pan, drizzled olive oil in it, and then set the raw pork chop down in the pan as it heated up.After a few minutes,the pork started to sizzle in the pan steam rising from it .The moment it hit my nose,my stomach lurched. I turned my nose away from the smell, felling the bile rise in my throat at how awful the meat smell.
This wasn't the first time this has happened yesterday night, I almost gagged when I was cooking bacon at the pack house. It felt strange because I loved meat. It was a huge part of a werewolves diet. It was good for me to eat it,but I couldn't stomach the smell of it lately.‘has the meat gone bad' I wonder But Tony has been eating it without complaining. I didn't want to disturb my self, maybe I ate something bad yesterday night that messed my stomach up today. Still trying to get my self I heard foot steps “isn't ready for how long do you expect me to wait"Tony said getting down from the stairs “almost". I hid my grimace and I straightened up and held my breath as I got near the sizzling pork loin. I grabbed my tongs and flip it over, while tony sat at the dinning. I quickly prepare the pork loin with sealed lips. I dished the food for Tony and left for the pack house.
I rushed into the car tony got me because I was really late. Once I got to the pack house, I found a spot and parked my car 🚗 and rushed into the pack house,once I got into the pack kitchen I heard the voice I didn't need to hear right now“hey! Lucy I thought you were not coming, I was about to meet up with the alpha, but am going to let it go today if you ever come late you will not expect what i will do to you got it"she spat. “yes" I said to the head maid ‘Marilyn' she is in charge of the pack kitchen and of all the food that goes out.
“Are you just going to stand there? or would you put on an apron and start working"
“put on the apron and follow me" she said rudely. I pull the apron down from my head and spread it wide so I could put it on.
“Fast"marilyn bellowed above me causing me to jolt. I hurriedly put it on and tied the rope behind my back. I followed behind her as she walked passed alleys of gas cooker, kitchen cabinets, and tall fridge.
When she stopped I stopped as well still confused at what to do because she always asked me to cook. Suddenly she shifted and took two steps backwards, now standing behind me.
In front of me was a sink, occupied with three tall heaps of dirty plates, pots,bowls and other kitchen utensils. Inside the sink was filled with more dirty plates and dirty water contaminated with bits of rice,bone and grease, my face turned pale as I stared at the mess. I felt nauseated and I couldn't hold it down anymore . I saw a trash can a few feet away and I made a mad dash to the trashcan. I collapsed in front of the trashcan and emptied the content of my stomach gripping the edge of the can for stability. A painful ache echoed throughout my body until I couldn't throw up anything else.
I felt drained now, grimacing at the after taste in my mouth, I slumped against the kitchen cabinet feeling some of the nausea still lingered slightly. I didn't hear anything apart from the loud foot steps of marilyn, stomping towards me. I get up quickly just in time for marilyn get in front of me, she pushes me by the shoulder and sent my back and head to the wall, I wince in pain and grip my head.
Marilyn stood in front of me, fuming with rage and disgust. Her wide and round eyes were even wider now and everyone seems to be looking at me with pity and disgust “silly girl do you have any idea what you have done, now who is going to clean up the mess you have on the floor made answer me"she thunder, it was then I saw the trashcan and the floor has been covered with vomit“I'm so sorry....."
“what would your apology account for"
“you will clean this mess up as soon as possible and clean up the dishes and the kitchen" she thundered once more.
“ Okay ma" I said trying to recover from the dizziness am feeling right now.
I managed to clear the plates quietly and after a few hours the plates stopped hurling in and I felt my breathing pattern return to normal a little bit before more plates hurled in.
My limbs began to ache after hours of standing and bending at regular interval to get the heap of dishes washed. At last, after what seems like three hours of endless and painful scrubbing and rinsing, I was done. I felt a wave of dizziness hit me when I try to get on my feet I held the sink for support when I felt someone's hand on my back I looked back and saw Roxanne her best friend, she has been here for since when everything began to fall apart and when everyone else Left me her father is also the beta of the alpha “lucy are you alright"she asked “yea maybe am just tired" I said “i heard what happened to you this morning"
“umm maybe am just coming down a stomach bug "I said feeling the dizziness get worst“really am not sure you are okay"
“am fine I am jus...jus........"
“lucy!!!! "That was the last thing I heard before darkness took over.

I slowly began to open my eyes and l look to my to left to see roxanne worried eyes staring at me“how are you feeling now "asked Roxy “am fine" I said trying to get up“but What happened"I said looking around and trying to figure out why I was in the pack hospital it was then it hit me I fainted in the pack kitchen,“nothing much happened but the the doctor Said you were fine and ran some test on you so we have to wait for the results"said roxy“okay,can I have some water" I said “let me go get you some I will be right back"Roxy said while getting up
“Okay did you call tony"
“Nope but am sure the head maid would have called him , don't worry everything would be fine"
“Hmmm”
“I will be right back"
“Okay"
Right after roxanne left, tony, the alpha and the Luna came in, but what caught my attention was tony came in with an angry look“alpha,Luna "I said bowing down “can you get down from the bed and greet the alpha and Luna well”tony thundered coming closer to me without thinking he drag me down from the bed kicking me in the leg and making Fall in my kneels“now greet”he shouted making me flinch“alpha,luna”i said bowing right then the doctor came in“alpha,luna"he said bowing down“you may rise" said alpha lance“what is wrong with my mate” said tony “okay so Miss Lucy when was the last time you went into heat"The doctor asked “i don't know i...hav..... have never like.....I haven't gone into heat" I said trying to hide the embarrassment because all girls who finds their mate goes into heat but me haven't even though I found my mate 2 yrs ago “oh,okay when last did you have sex with your mate" I felt a little shy when asked that type of question.I felt it was a private question that shouldn't be brought up.The doctor smiled when she saw how shy Lucy was. “Congratulations Miss Lucy you are pregnant, you are already a month and a week-long gone"The doctor announced with a smile. It was as if my world came crashing down.
