Prologue

12:01 am,

The night sky was illuminated with bursts of colourful firecrackers. Joyful anticipation filled the air as people

everywhere eagerly welcomed the new year.

Families gathered in homes to celebrate together, while some were in the lively atmosphere of nightclubs, enjoying the company of friends.

Nonstop firecrackers were bustling in the sky, a boy stood on the terrace of a building, his silhouette etched against the vibrant display in the sky. His distressed expression hinted at a sense of disappointment or sadness.

"Vikram, I am here!"

A cheerful voice softly touched his ear. He quickly recognized the voice and composed himself, turning to find a cute girl.

The girl was smiling at him and ran towards him, hugging him tightly. "Happy New Year!" she exclaimed.

After pulling away, she asked in excitement, "What is your surprise? I can't wait anymore!"

"I want to say something to you," he said with a serious expression.

Confused by his reaction, the girl asked, "What's wrong, dear? Are you upset about something?"

"No, I'm not," he replied.

The girl looked up at the sky and smiled again. "The sky looks so beautiful today!"

"Yes, it is," the boy said as his eyes fell on her dress. She was wearing a red v-shaped neckline top with skinny jeans. Her hair danced in the air and her fragrance filled the atmosphere.

"So, what do you want to say?" the girl gently asked.

Summoning all his courage, the boy composed himself. "I think we should break up and never meet each other again," he said with a heavy heart.

The girl was frozen, unable to process his words. Suddenly, something hit her head and she burst into laughter.

"I will not fall into your trap. I know that you want to see my reaction to this. Right?" The girl said and smiled.

"No, I am not joking with you. I am serious!" The boy said with a straight face, not wanting to reveal his true feelings to her.

The girl's face turned into grief. "What? But why? Did I do something wrong which made you upset? Tell me!" She exclaimed.

"You still don't understand me? I was just playing with your emotions!" He smirked.

"You are lying!" She shouted and began hitting his chest with her hands. Then the boy grabbed her hand and shouted "I am not lying! Just leave me alone!"

He forcefully pushed her hands away and made his way out onto the terrace, leaving the girl behind. While the others continued to revel in the festivities, her world came crashing down around her.

Tears streamed down her face as she struggled to contain her emotions. Despite her best efforts, she let out a heart-wrenching scream and she cried uncontrollably. Her heart ached with an almost unbearable intensity.

Collapsing to her knees, she continued to cry out. Meanwhile, the boy remained outside the terrace, unable to contain his own emotions. Overcome by sorrow, he cries openly, clutching his head as if trying to ease the intense pain within. His heart was also aching with pain.

Just then, his phone began to ring in his pocket, and he slowly retrieved it to answer the call.

"I have done what you had said. Now don't you dare to hurt her!" The boy angrily said.

"Okay, Okay. I will not do anything to her. Just Relax!" A deep voice from the other end of the call said.

"Now, what do I have to do next!"
