I stayed because JD was secretly soft and Morgan could absolutely stab me and I’d thank her.” Let me just say it loud for the people in the cheap seats: JD was NOT who I expected — and that’s why this book slaps. We started with a man who looked like a walking red flag in designer sneakers — roommate’s hot older brother, nose once broken by our Queen Morgan, a whole f-boy reputation and enough smugness to fuel an entire frat party. I was ready to hate him. Maybe even enjoy hating him. But then… Surprise! Underneath the arrogance? Lost golden retriever vibes, serious emotional repression, and a sex life that’s… let’s just say... more theoretical than legendary. Meanwhile, Morgan is out here being the emotionally literate, sharp-tongued, emotionally-available QUEEN I fell in love with in Book 2. She deserved a partner who could match her in wit, care, and mutual growth. And somehow, JD became that guy — with a lot of kissing, arguing, and chaos in between. 💥 What I devoured with zero shame: JD’s character arc. From "King of Misogyny Mountain" to "please validate me, I don’t know what love is." BRILLIANT. I didn’t think I'd root for him and yet here I am, emotionally compromised and a little feral about his redemption. Morgan. Period. She’s hot, emotionally intelligent, ambitious, and sharp as a blade. Also: her family? 10/10. I want to be adopted. That first kiss? FIRE. That slow descent into “maybe we keep kissing but pretend we still hate each other?” PURE dopamine. Ongoing universe building. Characters from previous books show up like familiar friends crashing your chaotic group chat. I love seeing Kat and Brick still being hot and in love in the background while Morgan is out here throwing emotional darts at JD’s chest. 🏒 Minor grumbles from your local gremlin: MORE HOCKEY, PLEASE. I need game stakes, penalty drama, sweaty locker room tension, the works. The games are mostly used to justify shirtless dudes and locker room appearances — valid, but give me a goalie glove drop fight, damn it. The emotional beats were strong but the pacing stumbled early. I see you, Chapter 5 slump. But once it hits its stride? Chef’s kiss. Final Verdict: Enemies-to-lovers with teeth. Banter that flirts with destruction. A hot mess of a hero who falls hard for the woman who already knows her worth. This is the messy, tender, kiss-and-regret-it-then-kiss-again kind of romance that burrows under your skin and doesn’t let go. Morgan is the woman I aspire to be. JD is the man I didn’t expect to fall for. The UNI Lions universe? Has me by the throat. Highly recommend. Bring on Book 4, because I am unwell."

I will be nice to read about the guys and their girlfriends together more . And would like to read some epilogues. And it will be nice to know answers to some unanswered things . Slow paced, lacks creative flair and editing
"I had great expectations from this book but its slow pace and lack of creative flair has drifted my interest. Read 26 chapters so far but won’t read further. 🥹The book starts quite slow and I missed creative flair the most. I could not emotionally connect with the characters due to writing style. The tension between the lead fails to come out while reading. There isn’t any banter and thrill in the way they communicate. The pair is just saying words instead of talking a dig at each other with sharp one liners that are often used to communicate hatred/enemy to lovers plot. Had the writing been crisp, there’s no reason to repeat that the lead pair hates each other. Grammatically too, the book falls short on my expectations. Tenses are all over the place - some are written in present continuous while others in past tense. The redundancy is also off-putting. The male is often mentioned as a f***boy but there’s not enough justification why the female lead considers him as a flirt. Likewise, the topic on dog’s adoption comes in every chapter but it’s unclear why the ex-girlfriend wasn’t turning over the dog to its rightful owner. The book has the potential to be a good read if it gets proofread and edited properly. Pls remove repetition and fix tenses to make the book crisp and captivating. "
