Chapter 1

Thank you for clicking my book:^) Hope you stick till the end.  xChim Zaramx

She stood tall and firm, her sword grasped tightly in her hand. Her eyes scanned the forest around her, and her ears perked up at the slightest rustling of leaves. These creatures were quick and cunning; she had to anticipate their attack before they struck. Suddenly, one came rushing towards her at an alarming speed, and she barely dodged in time, feeling a searing pain in her thighs. "Damn it!" she cursed, realizing their claws were sharp as hell.

The creature attacked again, but this time she dodged easily, slashing her sword against its puffy chest. It dropped dead seconds later, gagging. She stood up straight, wincing at the pain in her thighs. She looked down to see she was bleeding profusely. Her head snapped towards another rustling sound - one, two, three... she counted, listening carefully. Oh no, it wasn't just one coming at her this time; it was a dozen. "Shit!" she hissed, standing in a fighting stance with her injured leg behind her.

She wasn't going to die in this valley. If she was to find her mother's amulet, she needed to get out alive and intact. With a minute to spare before the creatures reached her, she quickly tore a piece of her garment and tied it tightly around the injury. She slung her crossbow over her shoulder, and just as she was ready, the creatures dashed out of the bush. There were more than twelve of them, and they were heading straight for her.

She was at a disadvantage, but she wasn't going to turn around and run; that would be certain death. "Defend, defend as much as you can until you find an escape," she chanted to herself, steadying her nerves. But then, she felt a whoosh past her ear, and the strangest thing happened - three creatures fell dead with holes in their now bloody foreheads. What the...?

The creatures seemed equally perplexed, freezing in place with wide eyes fixed on her or... behind her? She slowly turned around, and her eyes met the most beautiful pair of eyes she had ever seen. His golden eyes burned intensely, like a furnace inside, with a deep, rich color that seemed to warm her very soul. They were fringed with thick lashes that added to their allure, and they sparkled with a hint of mischief that made her heart race. As their gazes locked, she felt a strange sensation wash over her, as if she was being drawn into their depths. It was almost as if she was being hypnotized, her willpower weakening under the intensity of his stare. She felt a shiver run down her spine, and her knees trembled slightly, making her almost... submissive. It was a strange, unsettling feeling, as if she was losing control, but at the same time, it was also exhilarating, like she was surrendering to something powerful and primal. With lightning speed, he vanished from her sight, leaving her bewildered and feeling a little bereft, as if she had been suddenly deprived of something precious. She blinked, trying to clear her head, wondering if she had been daydreaming.

Her questions were answered when she heard slight thuds coming from behind her. She turned around to find all the creatures lying on the floor... dead with the same forehead holes. She gaped at the bodies, her eyes subconsciously searching around for the mysterious man, but he was gone. He had disappeared from her sight... again.

Who the hell was that?

She sheathed her sword and walked towards the dead creatures as her eyes scanned them. Sh had fought devious creatures in the past but this one was by far the fastest and definitely the ugliest of them all. She turned around to walk away but her eyes caught a glimpse of something. It wasn't hard to noticed because it was... silver? She walked towards it bending down to pick it up wincing as she did so. She examined the silver totem in her hand. It was strange to see such rare thing in a forest like this. Someone definitely dropped it and then it clicked. Did the strange man drop it? She didn't get a proper look at him so she couldn't tell if it was his. She looked around one more time before pocketing it and walked away from there but not without kicking one of the creatures on it's big spooky face.

Isabella was now standing in front of a signboard which boldly wrote "Welcome to Ravenhood" She was staring blankly at the sign before realization dawned on her and she blinked.

How the hell did she get here?

She looked back at where she come from, and saw a trail leading into the Forest. She had been Stück in that forest 72 hours and now she's standing in front of a village, she had no idea how she got there. Like her memory was wiped.

That's not strange at all.

She slowly entered the street after a few minutes of walk, she saw two men standing at each side of a trail in their what seemed like a guard uniform. She walked towards them about to walk past them when they held out their hand. She raised a brow at them

"You're unfamiliar. Identification." One of them said his voice filled with Malice and his eyes showing obvious hatred. She fought the urge to poke her hands into them.

"Don't you understand?" He said stepping close to her in an intimidating way but she didn't back away her eyes glaring at him before raising her hands to her side. The guards hand roughly pat her body up and down until they got to her sword and his brow furrowed.

"Whose sword is this young lady?" He said reaching for the sword but Isabella back away her eyes holding fury but her voice calm.

"Mine. Any problem with that?"

The guard raised his brow before exchanging glance with the other.

"Yours?" He asked his time hard and low. Isabella stared at the man but from the corner of her eyes, she could see the other pulling out his knife.

"And what happened to you?" She heard the man say gesturing to her now bloody cloth on her thighs area. She was about to ask him to mind his business before a voice intervened.

"Leave her be" The voice was like a command, firm and stern, and it sent a shiver down Isabella's spine. She turned to see the source of the voice - He was standing behind the guards, his hand behind his back, and his presence exuded authority and power. She met those burning eyes again. They were staring at her with no emotions in them.

The guards stepped back from her immediately but still maintain their stance. "She has a sword... so I suspected she might be a..."

"The sword is mine" He said again his hand behind his back. The guards eyes widened as they stares at him. "y..yours?"

He suddenly turned towards her direction. He stretched out his hand "I'll have it back now"

She cocked her brows at him but them understood he was trying to help her but he really didn't expect her to hand out her sword like that -her precious. If this was the only way, then she'll make sure to keep an eye on him and the sword and she know just the way to do that.

"Of course* She smiled sweetly walking towards him "it was wonderful Training with 'your' sword. It helped me a lot and now I've returned it as promised so you'll have to keep your own side of promise" She said sweetly placing the sword on his outstretched palm. She looked up to his eyes and found them staring at her intently with no single emotion. He was really a Bad actor.

"You promised to find me an inn to stay here for a while and 'continue' my training" she continued after he didn't reply.

"i already did" He face was neutral as he turned away from her and walked away.

What the hell is he talking about?
