Summary

Frejya Draven had spent centuries detached from the world and indifferent to the affairs of the humans that surrounded her. To her, they were nothing more than a means to an end, a source of sustenance in her eternal existence. Humans were cruel, selfish and beneath her concern. For two and a half millennia, Freyja had maintained her distance with her heart untouched by the lives she crossed. But all that would change after a chance encounter her with a woman that Frejya Draven thought was far more foolish than she was brave. The woman’s mere constant presence would begin to shift Freyja’s long-held indifference into something unexpected, interest. The ancient one found herself drawn to her, questioning everything she believed about humans and her own place in the world. In her, Frejya found a reason to care, a reason to protect and perhaps even a reason to love. As their worlds collided, the Ancient’s heart began to thaw, revealing that even the oldest and most detached of beings could find a spark of connection in the most unexpected places.
