Prologue
Cynthia:
Maderville, a tiny ass little town in bum-fuck nowhere with not many people but way too many attitudes. The type of people who all told each other they were better than the other one but had the same cheap type faux leather jacket that cost twenty bucks at a thrift store. It's not that they were poor or nothin' they just didn't have big money or they did and they stashed it in the basement for safe keeping. Either way, I knew two things about this crumby little place, a) I didn't give two shits about it at the beginning of my senior year nor did I at the end. And b) I was leaving in a few short months anyway, so no skin off my back, they can all go to hell.
Enough about them, let me tell you about me, and be all cringe by introducing myslef like a damn ice breaking challenge. Hi, everyone I'm Cynthia Plum and fun fact about me I fucking hate icebreakers, along with every living human being on the planet, pay attention teachers! I'm a writer, nothing published yet but that's going to change soon, that's a promise. I have the whole summer to read by my lake, aka 'the pool' and write to my heart's content morning, noon and night. Mostly morning and noon, night I have to pick up a couple shifts at the bar a few towns over. It was the only place where no one gave a fuck who I was or where I was from so long as I could pour drinks and serve them without them ending up in someone's lap. Check and check, plus, not going to lie I got a great pair of tits on this soft pale chest of mine, which tends to help when it comes to tips.
Summer is here, I am free, my program starts soon and I'm moving out. Ain't nothin' going to stop my dreams from coming true.
Sathe:
Ah Maderville, the perfect place to find some cute-little-just-coming-into-her-own-innocent and manipulating the shit out of her. Not that that will be hard at all, my chiseled jaw, perfectly white teeth, dark brown on the verge of black short flowing hair and eyes that seems to say 'you can tell me anything' have girls lining up and out the door for me. It's as if they wanted to be manipulated, like they knew what I was doing to them but because I was a wet dreamboat, they didn't want it to stop. Well that was just fine by me, but I needed a challenge. It's fun when they just trust you whole heartedly for a while but then it gets dull and boring real fast. In this crappy little town, with two sides—a north and a south—and houses all at least a five minute drive away, smelling distantly of oil and cowshit, I was bound to find my challenege lurking in the shadows. Look out Maderville, there's a monster in town and his new name, because when not wanting to get caught one must never use his actual name, is Sathe Alexson.
