Chapter 1

I step out of the car for the first time since our last pit stop, 6 hours ago. Feels good to finally stretch my legs, the house we are moving into is a beautiful 2 story building almost right on the beach. Close enough to feel the sea breeze in my hair.

You would think California is hotter than Kansas but with how I feel right now, it feels like it should be mid fall when it's August currently. The sea breeze cools everything off, it feels so nice.

I open the back of the moving van to start getting boxes out. I look to call my brother Jay to help but of course he's already on the beach looking for female attention. I grab a few boxes and set them in what will be our kitchen soon enough.

I grab a box of my clothes and some of my books and take them to the room that I call dibs on. The only room that has a balcony facing the ocean, ladies first on the pick of rooms right?

I walk back out the front door to where we parked the van keeping my eyes on the beautiful beach. I don't think I'll ever get used to looking at it, such a beautiful scenery compared to miles of cornfields. I wish I wouldn't have packed my camera up! This would be an awesome place to photograph.

Getting lost in my thoughts i trip on my own foot, I put my arms out to catch myself when I hit the ground but the ground never came? I open my eyes in relief "hey thanks Jay I thought you had already ditched me for the beach" I say turning to see my brown eyed brother only to find an unfamiliar set of green eyes looking down at me.

I examine his face for a moment, who is this blonde handsome stranger with his hands on my waist?

"Why do you have your hands on my sister?" Jay asked behind me with an angry tone. He's very protective of me, acting like he's my older brother even though we are twins and I was born first. Not identical twins, we both have blonde hair but I have blue eyes and he has brown. I have more my mother in me.

"Jay he was helping me out, I almost gave the ground a hug and this very.... Nice stranger helped me not fall," I say getting out of the strangers grip.

"Yeah I was just making sure she doesn't get herself hurt" the stranger says winking at me. Who is this handsome man? I need his name to stalk on social media later....

"Whom is it that I need to thank?" I ask him looking him up and down. He's definitely in some kind of sport cause he has some nice muscles.

"The name is Logan Wess m'lady" he says with his hand out for me to shake. I reach to shake his hand then Jay shakes his hand instead "I'm Jay and this is my sister Jade, is there something we can help you with?" He asks irritated.

Logan puts his hands up in surrender "just meeting the new people in the neighborhood" he says "I live a couple blocks down that way" he points away from the beach.

"Well as you can see we have met and are busy unpacking so you can go" Jay says pulling me toward the moving truck to unload more things.

"I look forward to seeing you again, Jade" Logan says before he starts running towards the beach. Logan Wess hmm? I'll definitely be looking you up tonight Mr. Wess.

We got everything set up, my dad ended up arriving later than us with our cars on a big trailer. We only have a couple days till our senior year starts and I'm already not looking forward to it.
