The Study of Significance
The heavens shake with envy
locked in their tight ecliptics
as they turn in calculated rigor
before a marble blue and mystic.
The ever-blazing weightlessness,
alive from chalk and fission,
watch burning hearts and branching thought
alive with blood and vision.
That which seems so trifling
may dwarf that without passion.
Reverence, sweet sentience
and love devoid of ration.
The masses move with fervor
on their spinning slab of rock
as they sweat and bleed to understand
the things composed of chalk.
Blemished hands and burning eyes
turned up to face the fire.
Heavens fast and stars divine
burn hot with cold desire.
Mystic grace and elegance
an imponderable span.
The eternal waltz of flame and ice
beyond the mind of man.
