Are you familiar with the Guardian Angel picture that is so often hung in a child’s room?
Yes, exactly the one on which a long-haired, winged young man or girl, dressed in blue, green or pink, is holding slightly behind the backs of two children crossing a rather poor-looking bridge.
If you get your idea of Angels from it, you are as far from the truth as possible. For my world, this became clear shortly after the Americans bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The atomic bomb was such an imbalance that even God and the Angels in Heaven could not ignore. So they revealed themselves to humans.... and it turned out that people really had no idea of their power.
Those who saw it described it as follows:
Despite the ongoing fighting, there was silence. It was as if something had absorbed all sounds. It was impossible to hear one’s own breathing. People also felt an overwhelming tension, such a widespread belief that something important was going to happen. No one had any idea what, but everyone knew something was going to happen.
Then it got dark. Suddenly. Not as during a solar eclipse, not as if night had fallen, because when night falls, there is still the light of the stars and the moon to see something. When this happened, it was as if some black hole had sucked every last particle of light into itself, even the smallest. So much so that many people began to experience panic, born of the belief that they had lost their sight. And in this growing worldwide panic, THEY revealed themselves. The archangels. All seven of them.
A light flashed in the sky, surrounded by flames, showing the Archangels. They resembled meteors burning in the atmosphere, full of majesty and awe. They approached slowly, filled with majesty and solemnity. They seemed like a cataclysm that suddenly and without warning decided to destroy all life on earth.
At first they let themselves be seen by virtually everyone. As they approached the ground, they suddenly appeared in figures similar to those we know from books: as tall men with beautiful wings on which they seemed to float. Wherever they were spotted, they left an impression of refreshment and renewal. However, it was nothing superficial. Those who experienced it later recalled that in an instant they stopped feeling anxiety, fear, weariness. All the things that the war, which lasted for several years, had soiled them with. They felt the need for calm, tranquility, harmony and peace.
Then the Revelation began. The Archangels made their names known, so that no one doubted who they were. And they were: Michael, Raphael and Gabriel, and Uriel, Kamael, Jofiel and Razjel.
Then the people heard, or rather felt, the message with which they came. An overwhelming will that expected the cessation of wars, the abandonment of plans to build more weapons as destructive as the atomic bombs of the Americans. A will that ordered the surrender into the hands of the archangels of all the leaders responsible for the outbreak of war and the greatest crimes.
All, literally all people on earth felt this message, which contained the power, empowering every single person, to carry out the commands contained in it.
So the soldiers began to catch the most brutal among themselves, issue officers who were responsible for pacifications, rapes and other crimes. All of them were to be put on trial, before a tribunal composed of Archangels.
And the judgment took place. A judgment witnessed by all of humanity. A court that was just, not overly harsh, but also not overly merciful. A court that was different from any human tribunal. A court within which not many words were spoken, because these were not needed by the Archangels for anything. They possessed insight into the souls of those on trial. They were able to judge to what extent they were rotten to the core, and to what extent the crimes were the result of coercion or intimidation.
They identified the guilty, passed judgment. Some they punished with loss of life, others they sentenced to penance. But the end result was that everyone in the world felt that justice had been done.
Once the judgment was completed and thus, the war was over, each of the Archangels revealed their tasks and roles. Michael, all clad in gold and blue, wearing armor reminiscent of an officer of the Roman legions, with a sword at his belt, presented himself as God’s warrior, called to fight evil, the defender of humanity. He established an order of his name, whose task was to form warrior monks, accessing power over the element of fire, who were to become, first and foremost, guardians of the peace established by the Archangels. These monks were also to support humanity in the fight against spiritual evil, against demons that, spurred on by the horrors of war, had gained so much strength that they could become a real threat to the world.
Raphael, presenting himself in green and gold, exuding warmth and serenity, recalled before the eyes of the people his journey with Tobiah, recalling his role as a guide and healer. He also established an order whose task was to explore medical knowledge, to develop the art of healing. Monks of this order, were to be given the power to heal all wounds of soul and body.
Gabriel, known as the Lord of Revelations, stood before the people clad in white and silver. Despite the fact that he appeared as the third in line, everyone felt that in truth he was the one responsible for all those impressions that reached directly into people’s thoughts and hearts. His will was to establish an order that, bearing his colors, was to have the task of developing the ability of the material world to communicate with the spiritual. The monks chosen by him were to be given the ability to explain dreams, the gift of prophecy and the understanding of prophecies and visions. Their task was to communicate and explain what future revelations and visions would carry.
Archangel Uriel formed a brotherhood whose task was to gather wisdom and gain knowledge. Those touched by him were to be given the gift of understanding both temporal and supernatural matters. Their special task was also to be to teach the people, so that the new situation that was to come about as a result of the Revelation would not become a hotbed of conflict resulting from misunderstanding. They were to accumulate the knowledge they gained, but not to make it an inaccessible treasure trove, but so that anyone with enough goodwill and willingness could gain enlightenment through it.
Kamael established a charitable brotherhood affiliated with his powers to fight poverty. Those who wanted to join it were to focus on practicing charity and mercy. They were to assist those who needed help not only because of poverty. Their activities were to assist those seeking love, those in love, and spouses.
Another of the Archangels, Jofiel, Archangel of wisdom and enlightenment, but also of art and beauty, associated artists of all kinds under his banner. He endowed those he appointed with the power to influence people through art. They were able to affect emotions, arouse admiration, stimulate courage... Especially those who discovered in themselves the musical talent marked by Jofiel.
The last of the Archangels to present his part of the Revelation was Razjel, the Lord of the Mysteries. In the world of science and technology, what was associated with him was the most difficult to accept. He established an order that was given special talents in magic and alchemy, as well as a special ability to learn mysteries. To those who joined it, he entrusted intelligence and counterintelligence tasks directed specifically at the supernatural world.
This is how religious orders came into being. The first vocations were marked by the Archangels themselves and underwent their formation under their personal guidance. This time is called the “Decade of the Archangels.” During this time, the Seven stayed on earth personally.
After this time, when the first monks took their last ordination, the Archangels returned to Heaven, leaving the monasteries as their governorship. From then on, vocations were made through the Guardian Angels of individual people, who appeared to the chosen ones and personally escorted them to the gates of the monastery, where they were to undergo preparations to undertake service in honor of the Archangels, for the benefit of humanity. Their special experience that distinguished them from the rest of mankind was their special bond with their Angels. This was due to the fact that the role of the Guardian Angel was not limited to just calling the candidate. From that moment on, the Angel became a special partner of the called one, who not only accompanied him in a spiritual and invisible way. The relationship of the called and the Guardian Angel was much closer. And above all - more tangible, because it was not uncommon for Angels to appear to their charges in visible form offering them advice and assistance. They also granted them some of their power, thus making the monks of angelic orders achieve what for other people remained in the realm of fantasy.
