chapter 3
A new start
After 3 more weeks he found the kingdom being walled up by stone. He moves around as he sees the guard with the spear and 4 more above with bows he prefers to avoid them he searches for a way inside the kingdom people come out of the sewers in a panic. They are locking the sewer gates as they leave toward the kingdom gate. Atlas moves toward the lock sewer and breaks it with his claw as it takes a few good slashes to break the lock as it falls down to the mud he enters the sewers navigating then slowly as theirs squeaks, running water, while the smell of shit is unbearable. the sewers changes height and weight as he encountered a cross road going into 3 different ways there's a light in the right as their a giant rat and a humanoid rat feeding it a dead human body.
Atlas crouches sneaking close as he lift his claws and slashes from up to down the air as the rats body gets sliced in 4 pieces he checks the dead human body as he scavenge its body seeing is a young male with robes, as he scavenge the dead body find a book of magic but doesn't understand a word it says, he grabs the backpack and checks inside as it has 2 blue magic crystal that he swallows he sees a money bag with 12 silver, he sees the dead humanoid rat as he picks a green crystal swallowing it making him cough up as he looks into his arms seeing how a green smoke come out of him as the stink of the sewer's aren't bothering him anymore. He grabs the backpack as he moves deeper into the sewer as there are swarms of rats and even more humanoid rats with swords and bows. atlas look at them and begins a massacre swarm of dead rats being cut into pieces rushing enemies goes toward him as there's nothing in atlas eyes just rage, pure rage swarm after swarm,rat after rate, squeak & screams as the smell of blood and dead body is all that is left.
2 weeks later inside the sewer a group of 3 adventurers are walking around the sewer searching for the nest of rats, when they found it the rats bodies were already decaying and smell 10 times worse then the sewers themselves.
Outside of the sewer and inside someone attic, atlas is eating the small rats from around the corner, as someone checks on him with a plate of food, a bucket of water and book & paper

???: “Hey little one how are you feeling, i got you proper food and even water for a bath” she pours water in a tub as atlas gulps on a rat. “make sure to keep silent at night and thanks for removing the rats. my husband is happy but doesn't know of you yet, i got to explain to him first.”
atlas: “you welcome, i understand gorgeous lady.” he enters into the tub as she cleans him and brushes his teeth after that she heads out of the attic and down the stairs. Atlas grabs the book and paper as the paper has translated words as he reads, memories it and speaks it. The book is magical in nature as he opens it and slowly reads it.
some time passes as theirs news going around the kingdom
??: “The sewers have been cleared, the sewers from the ratfolk nesting there, thanks to the brave adventurers.”
Atlas looks out the attic window as he sees a man enter the house.
placing his ear on the wooden floor as he listens in.
??: “Love, I got good news and great news. the good news is that i'm being promoted to silver rank and the great news i have paid off the debt fully and the house is ours.” He hugs her and kisses her as he looks at her.
???: she smiles awkwardly “well i also got news for you and it's not an easy thing to say but the rat problem is finally over and i found an orphan that i want to adopt.”
??: “Valkyr, if you feel ready let's adopt that child, even if a bit too early. and got the house paid”
valkyr: “well we could take it as practice for when the baby is born beside, i will need help if you are going to be adventuring left and right richard.”
Richard: “I understand love is that it's caught me by surprise, i will raise it as our.”
She smiles, hugs him giving her a kiss as she heads to the attic, Richard looking at her oddly until she gets atlas InFront of him having a face of shock even fearful. as he tries to keep is composure
atlas: “i. eat. rat. no. more. rat” he looks at Richard wild holding Valkyr finger.
Richard: “if the others see him they may act up and start a chase. make sure to teach him illusion magic to disguise himself properly. welcome to the family, looks like i get to teach you about adventuring and sword techniques.'' He is nerves but just want to make her happy
valkyr: “don't worry i make sure to teach him everything outside of elf and human language.”
5 week have pass
Atlas has been having nightmares at night of Sasha's death as Valkyr had been cuddling him to sleep every night to keep him safe. speak more fluently and even learned elvish needing a few adjustments when he talks, valkyr has explained to atlas how magic is invisible to the naked eye but it can be felt or be sense, she also explains how every being has a core in their chest to allow them to use magic.
He has been learning vigorously about magic as he has learned how to disguise himself as a human still having imperfections with his eyes being that of cat like eyes. His teeths still sharp when he opens his mouth, the hair is a rat tail mohawk that goes down to his lower back. He got to put his tail around his stomach in order for the illusions not to be broken.
Richard would take time to teach him about swordsmanship as Atlas has pushed back Richard when training with a shortsword and longsword, adapting fast to the training as with time, Atlas goes to use his claws showing bloodlust as he has to hold back from using his claws. as atlas is more proficient with daggers,knives and bow. he has read the book from the sewer as it was a magic book of healing
Atlas heads out from time to time seeing how the soldiers train, seeing them for hours until they stop evening coming around the corner as he walks through the alleyway left and right smelling blood, he sees in the alleyway a group of dead soldiers, a group of cloaked people with daggers drawn. Seeing 3 knights with swords drawn out and shields forward protecting a young woman with golden hair as her dress is gorgeous and clean. Atlas inhales in and lets out a shock wave toward the cloaked men from behind paralyzing everyone in place as his disguise fades, Atlas walks toward the cloaked men slashing his claws next to each of the cloaked men. as the knights are trying to move seeing the assassin be cut in pieces with a single move.
atlas: “you shouldn't be in an alleyway, it's very dangerous please make sure to go back safely.” he grabs the dagger and searches in their pocket taking their money,a letter and even ripping the assassin mana cores from their chest. Atlas looks at the rooftop seeing one of the cloaked men paralyzed in place, He climbs the side of the alley wall once on top he pushes the man down as there's a thump as the man is dead from the fall. The sound of fast moving feet, the sound of the alarm belts even the whistle around the kingdom of the soldier moving fast toward their location as the night and the girl are able to move now.
n/o: mana cores y crystal stone the same thing, they are also containers for magic. mana and magic are the same thing
Knight 1: “there's a beast-man in the kingdom. did it escape from a slaver or immigrated here”
Knight captain: “it doesn't matter get the princesses to a castle now. this may be the only chance we get before more come” he looks at the alleyway wall and floor being covered in slashes, swallowing nerves not knowing if the gods send this beast-man to save them or a dark omen.
Atlas waves goodbye as he disguises himself while running around the rooftop and sliding through them until he reaches Valkyr house as their soldiers move around. He enters through the window of his room as Valkyr looks at him with arms crossed.
Valkyr: pull his ear “you sneak out today, you forgot today was magic training and what worse the alarms are going around the kingdom.” she sighs as atlas is holding the pain back “bathe yourself and prepare for dinner you are training magic while you bathe” she makes him chant in the bathtub while preparing the table. He closes his eyes and the magic starts to gather around him making the plant inside the bathroom bloom as the entire bathroom starts to emit light as their orbs of magic around him from small to big as they slowly start moving into the house Valkyr feels the magic flowing toward the bathroom. she runs toward the bathroom seeing the magic orbs slowly dissolve into his body and into his mouth as he continues to breath slowly absorbing it as he opens his eyes seeing the magic around him how it flows and dances around as he turn to see Valkyr seeing magic run throughout her body as it being contained in her chest and going into her stomachs.
Atlas: “why do you have two magical vessel's inside you i thought you could only have one” he tilted his head in confusion, getting out of the bathtub and dried himself.
Valkyr: she touches her belly as she smiles “is because i'm pregnant atlas, this means me and richard will have a child in a year from now. That won't mean we will love you any less.” She smiles at him “I'm proud you we're able to see the magic that surrounds these words and even see mine, now whenever you fight someone with magic you will know how much they got before they run out of magic. Now come let's eat” she gives her hand toward him as he squeeze her hands she squeeze his walking to the kitchen to eat as atlas remembering sasha love and teaching as tears falls but he smile as he whips his tears as he eats dinner, once night comes valkyr cuddle with atlas while they fall asleep.
in the same time in the castle
a discussion is being held by the knights captain and king gerald while the princess is sitting down next to the throne.
