Yes Princess

I wake to the sound of thunder, rain hitting the roof and windows, causing the sound to echo throughout my room. Looking over to my alarm which displayed the time 3am. Sitting up i pull off my blanket and place my bare feet on the cold wooden floors sending a shiver up my legs. I place each foot down being careful not to creak the floor boards and wake my family. Down the steps and out the door in a matter of seconds. The cool spring breeze hitting every inch of my uncovered body, my warm breath fogging as i breathe. Glancing out towards the treeline and further towards the darkness the rain hindering my view and hearing. Stepping out from under my patio into the rain, i begin making a dash for the treeline. Once i reach the treeline I undress, removing everything besides my underwear, getting on my hands and feet i begin to shift. The rain drowning out each breaking bone until eventually it stops. I dig my paws into the ground and push off running faster and faster, i know exactly where to go. Leaping over logs and weaving in and out the trees i finally see it, my safe place. The lake glistens, each rain drop creating a perfect circular ripple in the water, the moon peaking through the cloud illimuniting spots of the lake. I look around making sure no one is near before I change back, my bare body now on display. Jumping off the wooden deck the cold water shocks my body, i start holding myself under as the noise of the rain stops and all thats left is silence. Peace and quiet.

“So how long do you intend to hold your breath for” 

“Oh look whos finally decided to start talking to me, are you done sulking snow” 

Snows my wolf, shes been ignoring me for the past week because i decided i wanted to leave and study in a different state.

“Well now that youve made that statement, i might go back to ignoring you”

“Hey, hey im kidding.”

Pushing up from under the water, i breathe in trying to give my lungs the much needed air i had deprived from it .Swimming over to the cave located a few metres from the lake i reach for the clothes stashed behind a rock. Shifting back and gripping the clothes in my mouth and i begin my quick journey back as the sun begins to rise. Seeing the treeline thin out i stop and shift back, getting changed I Make my way inside. Up the stairs to my bathroom. After having a quick shower, i put on some black lowrise jeans and a white tube top, i apply some light makeup and begin staring at my features in the mirror, blonde hair, green eyes, freckles and a button nose. I look exactly like my mom,i begin smiling at that thought before that smile fades and sadness sets in. 

“Keera your gonna be late for graduation”

“I know, im coming down now aunty”

I bolt downstairs, the smell of pancakes drifting through the air.

“So where’d you go this morning” my cousin asked.

“The lightning woke me up so i went for a run, why did you miss me” i retort.

“You wish, I just heard the creaking of the floor boards”. He rolls his eyes and sits down to eat.

“Damn i thought i was really quiet”.

Everyone there snorts, my aunt and Uncle coughing as attempt to cover up their snort.

“Wow ok i see how it is, yall clearly dont love me enough to lie to me. Crushing my hope and dreams”. I sit down and stack 4 pancakes on my plate as everyone rolls their eyes at my statement. Everyone scoffs down their food, eating at least 15 pancakes each.

“Keera honey are you sure you still wanna study in Alaska, its a very long way away”

“Yes aunty im sure, the school there has the best biology course in all of America”

Everyone saddens at the thought of me leaving but they know its what i truly want and they all support it.

“Ok sweetheart, well i spoke to Aplha Devin and he said that your more then welcome to live on pack land if you decide the dorms arent for you”. She says with a big smile.

“Thanks aunty your the best, ill be sure to let him know”. I smile back.

“Alright you three, get to school”.

“Dibs on driving”. I scream.

I jump for the car keys and bolt to the door, easily outrunning the other two.

“Absolutely not, we want to live until graduation”. Isaac retorts.

“Yea knowing you we wont make it past the driveway”. Jackson retorts.

They are quick enough to get to the door before i open it fully, pushing it back. Isaac holds out his hand gesturing for the keys.

“Drop them”. He demands in semi serious tone.

“Bitch you know i could easily overpower you”, I smirk while saying it.

“Not both of us”. Jackson backs him up.

“Pwetty pweaseeee”. I put on my best puppydog eyes.

They both look at me trying to hold their composure, until eventually jackson gives in.

“Ugh fine, lets just let her this once considering shes leaving in a week”. He says defeated.

“Your too soft on her jackson”. Isaac sighs before moving out of the way.

“You bought her a whole ass phone for her birthday”. Jackson says.

“You spolied her even m, i dont need to hear it”. Isaac says back.

I giggle at the twins fighting as i make my way to our 2014 mustang. Even though these two werent my biological brothers they still treated my like their sister and spoiled me rotten, they protected me when i needed it and they were the only reason i survived highschool.

“SHOTGUN!!”. Jackson yells running for the front seat.

“Im older, i get shotgun”. Isaac manages to beat jackson to the front seat.

“No fair, that complete bullshit your only a minute older”. Jackson whines, moving to the back.

“Older, faster, smarter, what can i say im the complete package”. Isaac says proudly.

“And uglier”. Jackson says with a big grin.

I try my hardest not the laugh, facing the other way to try and compose myself, they were twins but they were fraternal twins. Isaac had brown wavy hair, Blue eyes and tanned skin while Jackson had blonde wavy hair green eyes and tanned skin. Both were undoubtedly goodlooking though and that was proven everyday by their fan club. I put the car in reverse and head out the gates, heading towards school. I notice Jackson and Issaac giving eachother an odd look and know they are mindlinking something.

“Mind sharing what you two are talking about”. I say glaring their way.

They both look unsure and continue mindlinking leaving the car in silence, eventually they nod to eachother finally coming to a decision.

“We were going to wait to tell you but…..Jackson and I are both going to Alaska with you”. They both smile happy with themselves.

“WHAT, but you guys got into harvard. Why on earth would yall decide to go to Alaska”. I say in utter disbelief.

“Well considering im going to be beta i talked to dad and he thought it would be a great idea to go to the alaskan pack and learn from them. Considering they are the biggest and most powerful”. Isaac says.

“Yea and i checked their law program and it looked really good so i thought id tag along”, Jackson states.

Obviously these two are mental but i decide not to argue since theyve both made their decision and werent going to back down. Plus i couldnt imagine life without them so its a bit of a relief knowing theyll be there.

“As much as id love to be mad and say this is a terrible decision, im actually quite happy i get to spend college with my bestfriends”. I say with a smile.

Both of them loioked stoked with their decision and grin from ear to ear knowing theyd made a positive impact towards me. We put on some music and bob our heads to the tunes, enjoying the ride there. Within 20 minutes we arrive at school and i begin looking for a car park. 

“Everyone quiet so i can concentrate on parking” i say sternly giving both of them a glare.

“The fact you have to say that is concerning”. The both give me a worried look but shut their mouths and hold on.

I turn the wheel and begin to concentrate, narrowly avoiding both cars on eithier side. However i eventually manage to to park the car.

“There all done”. I let out a sigh of relief followed by a smile.

Looking over i see both the boys praying for their survival.

“Okay guys the exaggarationis ridiculous”. I roll my eyes and open the door to get out. 

They both hop out and examine the parking, looking side to side and squinting their eyes as if assessing a piece of abstract art.

“Honestly that one might be your best yet”. Jackson says.

“Yes honestly impressed you could park even mildly straight’. Isaac snickers.

“Ok once yall are done giving me shit for the fact i can't drive or park you guys can join me with heading to class”. I say and i turn and head off.

“Keera its a joke i promise” Jackson says.

“Yea i promise we are joking”. Isaac chimes in.

They both hurriedly run after me as we all head towards class.
