Hae-rin P.O.V
City of love, is what the people called it, they go with their partners on vacations or go on vacations to find partners but that was not the case with me...
I was traveling to the romantic city, but I had neither
Nor the partner, and neither I was going for a vacation
I had to finish up my remaining two years of my college and had internship lining up simultaneously.
Why paris you may ask, the whole and sole reason,

I had just bid goodbyes to my big asian family, sniffing my way through the check-ins and verifications, I had made it to the lounge my father had specifically given me access to
I look at my boarding pass and wonder, what surprises did the place held for me
There in the busy rush of the airport, sat a transfer student, who was leaving behind her last 3 years of studying law at the SNU, the big asian family and all the life till now, for an internship under senior most lawyers and the remaining two years of law education and whatever the French city had in bag for me
It was currently midnight, my flight was in an hour, I decided to call the number of the agent who was supposed to arrange a place for me to stay
It was currently 6 in the evening in paris, so I guessed she would pick my call
"Bonjour, comment puis-je vous aider" came in her chirping voice
"Hello, I'm the transfer student from Korea... I spoke to you a week ago.."
"Yes yes I remember, don't worry sweetheart, your request is granted, I've found a perfect place for you, just speak to me once you land" she spoke in a heavy french accent
"Thank you so much" I hung up the call.
I cleared up my mind from any kind of stress and prepared myself for the upcoming flight of 20 hours
Once the boarding call echoed loud in my surroundings.
Before I knew, I was searching for my seat.
Once Hae-rin settled down on her seat, a lady- middle aged maybe, comes up to her
"Young lady, you are in my seat" she said rather irritably
"I'm sorry ma'am but isn't this 17 C?"
"But it is supposed to be under my name"
The passenger, beside Hae-rin looked between the two women, and decided to step in, although they were conversing in hushed voices, it seemed to bother him
"Excuse me, miss." Hae-rin looked at the source of the manly voice which echoed in her ear
"This is supposed to be either one of yours, so confirm it with tickets."
Hae-rin pulled the ticket out of her pocket and it was clear that the lady had some misunderstanding.
The lady apologised and asked a flight attendant to help her find her place.
After the plane took off, Hae-rin looked at the man beside her, debating whether or not she should thank him, she finally let's out a small awkward "hey" from her mouth
The man turned to her, that's when she noticed, the brunette male looked rather handsome now when his face was fully turned to her.
"Yes?" He turned his full attention to her
"I Just wanted to say thank you, I would normally see my ticket and clarify but-"
"It's okay, it's looks like your first solo travel, trust me I was like that too"
"Yeah, might be"
They stared at eachother, silently admiring the other persons beauty
"I'm Kim Taehyung by the way" he said with a contagious smile
"Hae-rin, Kim Hae-rin." I return him the smile
They look away from eachother, the faint smiles remained intact on their faces, whenever they passed eachother a glance.
For the next 20 hours, they both minded their own business, obviously because they were strangers. They had a layover in Abu Dhabi of 3 hours
Finally, at 2 pm EST, the flight lands at Charles de Gaulle Airport, Paris.
At arrival, Hae-rin finds out that the luggage shipping has been delayed so it will take a few hours. She decided she'll roam and explore around the city and then go to her room.
She steps out of the airport, the gush of wind brings back the loads of memories. Those fifteen days of her childhood coming back to her.
Her last trip to paris was with her grandparents, and it was the last trip which she had gone with her grandfather.
She was fifteen, vividly remembered her grandfather taking her to a stroll around the effil tower, she chuckled to herself when she remembered his words.
She was so lost in the beauty of paris, she was brought back to earth when she got a message from the airlines that her baggage has arrived.
She went back at the airport, collected her luggage and called her agent to get the address of the place she's supposed to be living in for her stay.
She got to know that she has 3 roomates two boys and a girl and they were searching for another person to fill in the vacant room. All were students except one.
When she reached the house, which was quite big for a bunch of students to afford, but maybe that's why they needed one more roomate to share equal rent.
Hae-rin nervously rang the bell, although she was sure of the address but who knew, she was a foreigner afterall
The door opened and she was welcomed by two of her roommates, the girl who opened the door was in a simple t-shirt and pants, the first thing Hae-rin noticed was her hazel-ish brown orbs, which complimented her fair skin beautifully, and the guy who was behind the girl, was a gorgeous man, his black hair falling on his face, the plump lips noticable as he ate cherries, frown lines fading away when he say Hae-rin at the other side of the door. One thing was for sure, two of her roommates were Korean.
"Oh hey, you must be the roommate our agent told about. Kim Hae-rin right?" The girl opened the door fully to let me in
"Yes that would be me" I confirmed
"Come in, then" she welcomed me
After I spun my eyes around the place, I was actually surprised, it was a two-story individual house, with two rooms up and two rooms down, the couch in the living room was big enough to fit 10 people, a television and a fancy kitchen which looks like it hasn't been used in ages, not dusty, but clean.
I turned to my roommates, wanting to again introduce myself
"I'm Kim Hae-rin, I'm here to study law"
"Oh! I'm Park Jimin, I'm a model"
"I'm Song Lianna, I'm studying fashion designing, so if you need help with the suits, I'm in" Hae-rin chuckled at her enthusiasm, anyone could clearly tell she was enjoying another girl in the house
"There is one more of us, he's upstairs sleeping, exhausted after a long travel, you can meet him at dinner." Lianna started to guide Hae-rin towards her supposed room
"Jimin-shi, get the luggage to her room." she ordered him
"I'm not your butler, Lia. And don't call me that" he rolled his eyes at her, but when she turned to look at him, he eventually melted and carried the bags to the room
"If your bestfriend can call you that, then why can't I?" She sassed at him, showing the other girl the room
"Because I can't stop that stubborn ass, now c'mon, let's give her privacy" he dragged the other girl out of his new roomate's room
"The dinner will be ready in a few hours, till then, make yourself comfortable" Lianna said before closing the door
Hae-rin sat down on the bed, exhaustion taking over her body, her social energy was drained, she kept her composter only because of how sweetly and warmly she was welcomed. She was relieved that atleast her housemates were nice.
She freshened up in the attached bathroom of her room, got into comfy yet presentable clothes, her unpacking could wait, so she clumped up the suitcases in one corner and layed flat on her bedroom to take a short nap.
In the kitchen, jimin and Lianna were preparing dinner, it was not a regular thing, they were doing the favour only because the other two people were tired from the long flights. Both of them weren't great chefs, but were able to manage something together.
"I think she is looking for a job" both were having a banter, guessing their new roomate's occupation. After jimin made a wild guess about her being old enough to do a job, Lianna disagreed
"She doesn't look that old to me, might be a intern I guess"
"I thought she was a Fashion Student? You'd have a partner then" jimin suggested
"I already have my partner thank you" she smirked at him as he gave her a side eye
"I can't model for you forever, you make me model for feminine clothing too!" He whined at her
"Like it doesn't look good on you, don't worry you pull it off well" she teases, but she was telling truth, he can slay in any outfit he wears.
The continue their banter, till the dinner was ready, Lianna goes upstairs to wake their sleeping friend and Jimin knocks on Hae-rin's bedroom
She opens the door, jimin looks at her drowsy eyes, and smiled at her
"Have some food first, you have all night to sleep, come."
He says gently tugging at her bracelet which was hanging from her hand.
Hae-rin rubs her eyes and follows jimin mindlessly, she goes to the counter to grab water, drinks it.
She turns back but bumps into a wall- no someone's chest, she looks up to apologise, her eyes narrowed to see the person clearly as he was also rubbing his eyes.
When they both look at each other, they say-
"You?!"
Hey stars! This is the first chapter, let me tell you, this is the story where you have to trust the process, it may look boring in the beginning but once the main story line starts you're going to like it. So just trust your author on this one.
And my wording might look a little off because the last time I wrote was an year and half ago so I'm a little rusty, I'll take time for me to catch up with my own brain. Everything will eventually make sense.
