Senior Year Begins

Eli Harris

I cracked my room door open to peek my head into the hallway. The sound of the weatherman’s voice still echoed from the living room, and the smell of bacon flooded the house. I slowly closed my door to keep anyone from hearing that I was awake and promptly locked it.

“Alright, I got a few minutes to myself,” I said.

I go into my closet and take a box from the shelf, revealing a bottle of lube and other personal items. My dick was already hard and twitching with excitement as I grabbed the lube and headed to the bed while removing my underwear and then reaching into my nightstand to pull out a box of tissues.

Now, usually, I would find some porn on Twitter and hurry and rub one out, but this session calls for the spank bank. Squeezing some lube into my hand, I closed my eyes as I began to jerk my dick slowly, letting the memory play in my head.

Let me set up the picture for you.

Yesterday, Brett and I were working out at the gym, and he was sweating up a storm. His sculpted chest and hard nipples are clinging to his sweaty t-shirt. As he lifts the weights above his head, his shirt lifts to reveal his v-line. Eventually, he removes his shirt and starts to flex in the mirror and do some poses.

I play that moment in my head over and over until I’m close to the edge. My breathing gets more erratic, and I clench onto the bed as I get ready to cum; however, my pleasure time is cut short when the doorknob jiggles, followed by a slight knock.

“Eli?” my Dad calls out.

I hastily fumbled out of bed and fell onto the floor with a loud thud.

“Eli, are you okay in there?” my Dad asked, and the doorknob jiggled again.

“Yeah, just startled out of my sleep,” I reply.

“Oh, well, breakfast is ready; don’t take too long,” he says, walking off.

I wait till his footsteps are no longer hearable and groan in frustration.

“I guess it’s blue balls for you,” I say to my now soft dick.

Once I cleaned myself and put on some clothes, I headed to the kitchen to see my mom setting the table.

“Good morning!” I said as I grabbed a plate and scooped a serving of eggs onto it.

“Morning, baby. Sleep well?” Mom asked.

“I could have used a few more minutes,” I said, scooping a spoonful of eggs into my mouth.

Voices from the news reporters blared from the old TV in the living room. “Yesterday, the U.S. Supreme Court legalized gay marriage in all fifty states,” the reporter announced.

Mom’s face turns sour. “First, they ask for marriage, and then they’ll want children to conform,” Mom added.

Both my parents come from a strict, conservative Pakistani background; they have struggled through most of their lives. My Dad worked as a teacher, and my mom was a hairstylist. Wanting a better life to start a family, they moved to the U.S. Still, unfortunately, they brought their conservative values with them, and me being their closeted homosexual son has made my teen years painstakingly miserable.

“It’s weird,” Dad said as he sat at the table. “That shit doesn’t affect you, so I don’t pay it any mind.”

His harsh tone knocked me down a peg, sinking me into my seat.

“How do you feel about the news?” Dad questioned.

“I don’t care about it.” I lied. I usually tell them what they want to hear to get out of a conversation.

My prayers are answered as the doorbell rings through the house, finally ending this conversation.

“I got it,” Dad says, excusing himself from the table

“Brett!” I hear my Dad shout from the living room.

My parents have always been amiable to my friends, but when it comes to Brett, he’s the second child in their eyes. They play favorites just a bit, but they would never admit that.

“Did you catch the game last night?” Dad asked Brett as they walked into the kitchen. “The Lakers were off to a rough start.”

One thing I can say about Brett is that he’s the true definition of someone born in the wrong decade; everything about him screams the fifties: his style, his taste in movies, hell, I even told him he’s reminiscent of James Dean; hence, why I like to call him an old-timer sometimes.

“I did. I was a bit nervous, but I knew my team wouldn’t let me down,” Brett responded.

“Morning, Ma,” Brett said, pulling Mom into a side hug.

“Morning, baby,” she says, leaning in to kiss him on the cheek

“Smells good.”

Brett takes two bacon pieces off my plate, and I smack his arm.

“I would at least like a hi or a good morning before my food is stolen,” I assert.

“Hi, good morning,” Brett said with a mouthful of food, and I rolled my eyes at his nonsense.

“Sit down and have a bite,” Mom offered.

“Ren was waiting in the car... I guess I can have a quick bite,” Brett said, grabbing a plate and scoping some eggs and bacon onto it.

“Brett, you have a girlfriend; why not help Eli find a nice girl?” Dad asked.

It’s one of his many attempts at getting me a girlfriend. He’s been doing it since I started puberty.

“It’s Hard to when this one constantly rejects them,” Brett gestures to me.

“I don’t need a relationship right now; I just want to focus on this last year,” I added.

That’s a lie, but with my at-home predicament, how can I? And it’s not like I haven’t tried, although the past ones were questionable long-distance relationships.

As my parents talked, Brett tapped his foot on mine and motioned his head at my parents. I knew his hint and asked my parents, “Is it cool if I head to Brett’s place after school?”

“Sure,” Dad replied.

Mom, on the other hand, was suspicious of me.

“Sky’s mom told me that Anderson girl is throwing a party this weekend, too; it must be a coincidence.” She said.

Brett and I mentally froze at her response, and I gulped

“Well, I wouldn’t say it’s a party.” I nudged Brett from under the table for help.

“OH!” he acts shocked, ready to put that silver tongue to use.

“You must mean the album release get-together,” Brett said. “It’s not much of a party, just a couple of people chilling and listening to a new album together.” Brett continued.

We both smile, knowing my parents would take Brett’s word as law.

“I swear your generation makes a social event for everything.” Mom said.

Brett finishes his last bite of food and asks, “Are you ready? We also have to pick up Sky.”

“Yeah,” I reply, scraping the remaining eggs off my plate and into my mouth.

“I love you guys,” I say, walking towards the front door.

“Love ya’ Ma, love you, pops,” Brett says following me.

I see my friend Ren sitting in the car on his phone and wave at him.

“See! I told you she’d believe it.” Brett tells me as we walk to the car.

“I’ll give you that. I’m positive they’d say yes if you told them a brothel,” I added.

Brett stops, raising a brow. “Should I go ask them?”

I roll my eyes and get into the backseat of the car.

“Wǒ hěn hǎo, māmā.” (I’m fine, Mom.) Ren spoke. He usually doesn’t speak his native language in public, and he’s had problems being hated about his language by other people since moving here.

“Jījí de. Yǒu bìyào zhèyàng zuò ma?“... (Positive. Is this necessary?) “Nǐ bùbì zhèyàng zuò.“... (You don’t have to do this) “Wǒ míngbái, dànsh. Hǎo de. Wǒ yě ài nǐ” (I understand, but. Okay. I Love you too) Ren hung up the phone.

“Is everything fine?” Brett asked.

“Yes, Mom,” Ren responds sarcastically.

“Good!” Brett smiled before punching Ren in the arm.

“Asshole! What was that for?” Ren questioned, rubbing his arm.

“Eli’s mom found out about the party from Sky’s mom,” Brett said casually.

“And I was punched; why?” Ren asked, still confused and flustered.

“Well, I’m not going to punch Sky for it.”

Ren shook his head at Brett, then backed out of the driveway and continued driving down the road.

“So, about the party,” Ren spoke, his eyes focused on the road.

“Don’t tell me you’re backing out?” Brett asks

“I have Asian parents; if they find out I was near alcohol, I will be shipped overseas.”

“Don’t worry about alcohol; you’re the designated driver,” Brett reassured.

“Am I expected to drink?” I ask, raising a brow.

Brett sighs and says, “No one has to drink! All I want is for you two to enjoy yourselves once before this school year ends.” he exclaims.

“Don’t forget, we’ll be in college soon; you can’t be afraid of your parents forever.” Brett continued.

Ren and I side-eye each other. “Caucasians,” Ren says, and I laugh at his comment.

The drive continues with light music playing throughout the car. Brett and Ren pull down the sun visor as sunlight peeks through the clouds. Brett looks at himself in the mirror and takes the opportunity to fix his hair.

As I subtly glance between his reflection and my phone, faint sunlight hits Brett’s face and brightens the color of his eyes. They are a light mint green with a hint of blue - a pair of eyes you can stare at and get lost in. Brett catches me staring at him in the mirror, and my eyes quickly dart back to the phone. I wait a few seconds before looking at the mirror to ensure Brett isn’t looking. However, he’s still there, staring, waiting for me to look back up, then smiles and wink at me.

“Sorry, I didn’t mean to stare.” I stuttered.

“You’re fine. In fact, why don’t we get you closer?” Brett offered, and I nodded eagerly.

“Ren, find us a secluded spot. I want Eli to get a good look in my eyes while I fuck his brains out.”

“Eli!” Ren’s voice snapped me back to reality. Our eyes meet in the mirror.

“Text Sky and let her know we’re arriving,” Ren asked.

“Yeah,” I answered while adjusting my erection, wishing that I had finished my earlier activity.

We arrive and park in front of Sky’s driveway. Ren honks the horn of our arrival, and on cue, Sky and her father walk out the door and wave at us, then go back to talking.

“How are you two handling things?” I ask Ren.

“Good. It’s been about two months since our breakup, and now we’re just focusing on our friendship,” Ren replies.

“You didn’t hear it from me, but I heard someone was quick to move in after the breakup and maybe even thinking of asking someone to prom,” Brett gestured towards Sky.

Ren’s brows furrowed, his grip on the steering wheel tightened at the person Brett teased.

“If you’re talking about that Leon guy, don’t,” Ren hissed.

“Obviously, you still have feelings for her, and your feelings are valid, too,” Brett stated.

Ren stays silent and stares ahead.

“Eli, help me out. If you had feelings for someone, you’d tell them, right?” Brett asked.

“Say you told the person, and those same feelings weren’t reciprocated, even if there was a past relationship,” I added.

“Even so, you got to let your heart speak,” Brett says, and I shake my head.

“Alright, Disney Chanel Original,” I commented.

“I’m done talking about it,” Ren announced.

Brett notices Sky walking off from her Dad, gets out of the car, and joins me in the backseat.

“Morning, boys.” Sky greeted us as she got in the car.

“He hit me because of you,” Ren said as he pouted, pointing at Brett.

“Brett, why are you hitting an innocent person?” Sky playfully ruffles Ren’s hair as she says that.

“Maybe because certain moms are telling people about an upcoming party,” Brett said.

Sky sighed and sank into the seat.

“So, I may have helped my mom make a Facebook account, and she must’ve seen it from there,” Sky said.

“See what happens when you introduce parents to social media?” Brett said, and I punched him in the arm, which got a smile from Ren.

“Don’t be an ass,” I said. “Should I be a dick instead?” Brett asked, to which I didn’t respond.

“Lucky for us, Brett convinced my mom it wasn’t a party,” I responded.

As Ren pulled into the student parking lot, we eagerly entered and were greeted by a delightful surprise at the entrance. The area was adorned with prom-themed decorations, including elegant black and gold balloons adorning the walls, colorful ribbons adding a festive touch, and Q&A pamphlets neatly arranged on the table.

After chatting with Brett about the situation, I glanced at Ren, who seemed tenser than before. “Did you guys know it’s prom season?” Brett joked.

“Very funny,” Sky said. “I have to get to my locker before class starts. I’ll see you all at lunch.” With that, Sky walked off. A guy who I presumed was Leon joined Sky down the hallway.

I observe Ren, whose face looks like they had their hearts stomped on. Brett rests a hand on Ren’s shoulder.

“Still don’t want to tell her?” Brett said as he gestured at them.

“You are not helping.”

Ren knocks Brett’s hand off his shoulder and walks off.

“I think this is what my dad meant when he said I should shut up sometime,” Brett says as we watch Ren mope down the hallway.

“You should,” I joked, patting Brett on the back.

“You can’t make the guy confess his feelings; just let him work through this,” I said as Brett and I made our way to our lockers.

“So this weekend...”

“Hey, Eli,” a soft voice cuts me off.

I turn around to see Sydney Morgan, a senior I share algebra with during the first period.

“Oh, Hey! Were the notes helpful?” I asked.

Sydney chuckled as she spoke, “My parents have been on my ass this year about getting my grades up, so your help has been a godsend.” With a playful tone, she continued, “I was also wondering if you have any plans for this weekend. I know we’ll all be at the party, but would you be interested in hanging out tonight?”

I freeze in place at her question.

I almost made it out this school year without being asked out once. There were moments when Brett or my mom tried to set me up with dates. Still, ultimately, I would make up an excuse and blame diarrhea; besides, you can only use that excuse so many times before people become concerned about you.

My train of thought returned once I realized I hadn’t spoken in a minute.

“I would, but...”

“He would love to,” Brett answered from behind me, and I forced a laugh.

“But what about our plans for tonight?” I nudge Brett in the stomach, hoping he will take a hint and help me out of the situation.

“What plans? We were going to play the game all night,” Brett commented.

Dude! This man’s head is so thick that I’m unsure if there’s a brain in there—just a skull.

“Yup, nothing planned,” I said, masked by a fake smile.

“How about the movies? We can even do a double date—you, me, Eli, and Kate,” Brett said.

“Alright, let’s say... seven o’clock?” Sydney gushed.

“Seven works fine; see you then,” Brett said.

“Bye, see you tonight,” I say as Sydney walks off.

I turn around to face Brett, but my smile immediately drops.

“What?” Brett asks, confused.

“Take your father’s advice and let it sink in sometimes,” I snap.

“Oh, come on. Don’t tell me you’re upset with me now. I just helped you get a date with someone crushing on you hard, and you’re upset with me?′ Brett asked.

“YES! I didn’t want or need your help, and now I have to go on a date I didn’t even ask for,” I argued.

“It’s our last school-” I cut Brett off.

“I don’t care about this being my last year; I’ll experience it however I want,” I said, shutting my locker and walking down the hall.
