My story
Tukuha was in a state of shock, witnessing in horror how his beloved daughter, Sylveon, known in the earthly world as S30-5, was subjected to near-fatal torture by a heartless human obsessed with money, with no regard for the lives of innocent Pokémon. Now, I watched her agonize in a sordid dump, struggling to breathe amidst her own wounds.
Tukuha, shattered, could barely articulate words between sobs.
Tukuha: No... Toruku... *begging, desperately* Don't go like this, please".
Heartbroken, she watched helplessly as her daughter's eyes slowly closed, while her heart stopped beating and her breathing died.
Tukuha: No, please, don't do this to me!" *despair* It's all my fault! I shouldn't have neglected them both. I can't do anything now, I don't want to see you die today, I don't want to see you die today! Sorry... Sorry, Toruku, forgive me daughter!"
The cruelest thing was that Tukuha, being a ghost, was completely helpless. He could not communicate with his daughter, he could only observe her in her misfortune.
but........ It wasn't always like this, everything has its beginning before this even happened.
Let's get into a small village on an island called Yujo, located in the Katerna region, specifically in Wood Village, a charming place inhabited by around 89,000 Pokémon. In a cozy Eveelution-style house, a special family resides: Nuri Tukuha, a middle-class Vaporeon, known for his kindness towards his neighbors, and his wife, Nuri Kibo, a beautiful Jolteon. The happily married couple welcomed an adorable Eevee, but decided to wait until she was five years old to give her a name, following a local tradition. In the meantime, Tukuha already affectionately called her "Toruku", in honor of the love she represented to him and his mother Kibo.
Despite the good times, problems arose when Kibo became pregnant again. Tukuha thought that her irritability was temporary and that everything would return to normal after the birth of the new family member. However, Kibo's attitude worsened; she was constantly restless and seemed disinterested in caring for her daughter and the future egg. Arguments with Tukuha, especially about money, became frequent.
One day, we see Tukuha returning from work at the raw material factory with a bouquet of roses and a bottle of wine in her purse, planning to have a special day alone with Kibo the next day to solve her problems. On his way home, his co-worker, Ai, the Decidueye, congratulates him and optimistically encourages him about reconciling with Kibo.
Ai: *happy* I'm glad you're patching things up with Kibo, Tukuha-chan.
Tukuha: *sigh* Thank you. I just hope he likes roses. They're her favorite.
Ai: I'm sure they are. Don't worry, they'll soon be back to being the lovely couple they were before.
Tukuha smiles warmly, thanking his friend for the support.
Meanwhile, at the Nuri's house
We observe a Jolteon with a melancholic gesture as she packs her belongings in a suitcase. Once she finishes, she closes the door discreetly and when she turns to the living room, she finds her daughter, Toroku, quietly watching TV next to the Egg.
Kibo: *sighs* I hope they're well. Goodbye.
Carefully, Kibo closes the door to avoid being noticed.
Twenty-five minutes later, Tukuha returns home, beaming with joy, and goes first to greet his daughter and Egg.
Tukuha: *Happy* Hello, Toroku. How are you?
Eevee (Toroku): *Happy, wagging his tail* Hi, daddy! I'm glad you're here. I've missed you. *Pride* I took good care of my little brother, just like you asked me to. *Smiles tenderly*
Tukuha: *joy and tenderness* I'm touched that you care for your brother. *He caresses her with his paw. You'll be a great sister. By the way, Toroku, where's Mom?
Eevee: She's in your room, Daddy. She said she was busy with adult things, boring things.
Tukuha smiles at the situation and heads to her room. Upon entering, he is surprised to find it empty, except for a small note. Perplexed, he walks over and decides to read it. The letter read as follows:
Dear Tukuha:
I'm sorry for suddenly disappearing. I know I should have told you long ago, but it's just that I have someone else in my life, someone who, frankly, can provide me with financial security that you cannot. Please take care of our children and raise them to become Eeveelutions of good.
Do not look for me.
Sincerely: Kagame Kibo
Tukuha was overcome with a mixture of anger and sadness upon learning that Kibo had been unfaithful to him because of money.
Tukuha: *Sad and angry* As if money could buy happiness!
Sorrow overwhelmed Tukuha, who had loved Kibo with all his heart. But now, it seemed that she no longer reciprocated that love. With regret, Tukuha threw his ex-wife's note into the drawer.
At that precise moment, his daughter Eevee entered her father's room with a hungry look on her face.
Eevee: *with appetite* Daddy, I'm hungry.
Tukuha: *Coming out of his reverie* Oh, my dear daughter, don't worry. I'll prepare dinner in a moment. Even though I don't cook like your mom, at least you won't starve to death.
Eevee: Hey, daddy... Where's mommy? Where is she?
Tukuha, feeling nervous, didn't know how to explain to her that his mom had abandoned them, since he didn't have the heart to tell her the harsh truth.
Tukuha: *Nervously and sighing* Mom went to a place far away and we can't find her. But she asked me to always be a good girl and behave well, okay?
Eevee, somewhat confused and saddened, agreed even though she didn't quite understand why her mom had left them.
It has been about two months since Kibo divorced Tukuha, and Tukuha has had to assume the role of father and mother to his daughter, while caring for the egg, which is about to hatch in a month. Tukuha decided to change jobs, leaving the raw material factory to become a receptionist at a luxury hotel, where he was offered a better salary, in the hope of providing a brighter future for his daughter and the future egg, which he decided to name Satoshi.
Although Tukuha now had more money and the life of his small family was gradually improving, a major problem arose: his demanding boss subjected him to exhausting working hours that left him hardly any time for his children, or even to eat. Unwilling to hire a babysitter because of a bad childhood experience, Tukuha used to leave his children in the care of his best friend Ai's family. However, since everyone was busy working, the situation became even more complicated.
In a very specific week, February 23, 2010, Tukuha was extremely stressed. His little daughter's birthday was less than 15 days away, and he was feeling very nervous because he wanted to throw her a surprise party. He knew he hadn't spent enough time with her, so he planned to make this celebration memorable, in his own words.
To achieve this, he accepted overtime and night shifts at work, an idea that sounded good only in his mind. Eevee, his daughter, reproached him every time he went out late, and rightly so. That same day, February 23, Tukuha left for work at night again and would return home around 1 p.m., covering a coworker's shift. As usual, Eevee was making a drama because he didn't want his dad to leave.
Eevee: *crying* Please, Daddy, don't go. I'm afraid of being alone.
Tukuha: *soothing* Don't worry, Toroku. Your little brother can keep you company.
Eevee: But it's not the same without you. Please, daddy, I'll be good and obedient.
Tukuha just sighed deeply somewhat annoyed, avoiding fighting with his daughter.
Eevee: Please, Daddy, I don't want you to be like Mommy.
This infuriated Tukuha, feeling compared to Kibo.
Tukuha: *Angry* SILENCE, TOROKU! DO YOU KNOW WHAT I HAVE TO KILL MYSELF TO GIVE YOU SOMETHING TO EAT SO YOU CAN PAY FOR IT WITH YOUR TANTRUMS? NO! YOU DON'T! SO SHUT THE FUCK UP I'M NOT LIKE YOUR MOM!
Eevee was startled by her father's reaction, lowered her ears and curled up in submission.
Tukuha, realizing that he had yelled at his daughter, felt disgusted with himself, recognizing that it was partly his fault.
Tukuha: *sigh* Just make sure you lock the door tight and.... You won't talk to anyone.
With a terrible weight on his conscience, Tukuha left his house, locked the door and headed for work.
Arriving at work, Tukuha greeted guests with a forced smile, noticeable to his co-worker, Shiroi, an Absol.
Shiroi: *anxious* Are you all right, Tukuha, everything in order at home?
Tukuha, noticing that she was spoken to, reacted immediately.
Tukuha: *Sigh, sadly* Why would I lie to you Shiroi-Chan? Ever since my wife got divorced, things have become more difficult. I'm having a hard time keeping my balance, and that's why I did something I shouldn't have done. *Lying my head on the table, with a lump in my throat* I yelled at my daughter. I feel terrible, like a monster. I know it's my fault too, but I want to give my daughter a stable future, and honestly, sometimes I feel like I give more than my body can take. *sigh* I feel like the worst father in the Pokémon world.
Shiroi: *Putting his paw on her back* *Empathetic* Tukuha-san, I know few parents as dedicated and concerned about their children as you. Sometimes we make mistakes, but the important thing is not to give up and give them love and affection, something money can't buy.
Seeing Tukuha tired and dejected, Shiroi proposed a solution.
Shiroi: *Happy* Tukuha-san, I have an idea, how about us taking care of your children when you can't do it because of work? My son Senahu is the same age as Eevee, and there's always someone at home, either my husband or me. That way, you wouldn't have to worry so much and you wouldn't be bothering Ai. What do you think?
Tukuha raised his head with an expression of joy and relief.
Tukuha: *wagging his tail excitedly* Of course! Thank you so much for the help, Shiroi-san! You don't know how much you would help us!
So they started making plans to drop Tukuha's children off at Shiroi's house, subject to her husband's approval.
For Tukuha, it was a relief to know that her children would be under the care of responsible adults. She was hopeful that this would bring stability to her life again. At that point, nothing could go wrong.
Suddenly, an emergency alarm sounded, startling and upsetting everyone.
Tukuha: *Scared* What's going on!!!?
Tukuha's boss, a Blaziken, rushed down, urging to keep the hotel closed.
Shiroi: Boss, what's going on?
Boss: It's an attack by humans armed to the teeth! They're kidnapping Pokémon, especially young females.
At that moment, Tukuha remembered his children and felt a shiver of fear run through his body.
Tukuha: *worried, desperate* TOROKU, NO!
In desperation, Tukuha rushed out of the hotel to his home, ignoring the chief's warnings to stay inside because of the danger.
Tukuha ran out, hearing explosions destroying houses, bursts of bullets and the screams of various Pokemon. Several times he had to hide from humans who opened doors to take innocent Pokémon. What for? He didn't know, but at that moment, he was only thinking of his family.
He quickly arrived home and saw the shattered door. In fear, he desperately searched for his children.
Tukuha: *Fearfully* TOROKU, TOROKU, WHERE ARE THEY?!
He entered his daughter's room and realized that she was gone. Checking further, he discovered that his daughter had hidden the egg in a dresser drawer.
Tukuha: *Hysteria* NO, WHERE IS YOUR SISTER?!
Eevee: *shouting from afar* HELPAA, DAD!
At that moment, the house exploded with Tukuha and the egg inside. Fortunately, they survived thanks to the fact that the debris that fell on Tukuha was not deadly. Desperate, he left the egg in a safe place and promised to return for Satoshi.
He ran to where he heard the screams and saw a truck pulling up with his daughter inside. He desperately followed it.
Tukuha: *desperate* I must run, I don't want my daughter to suffer! COME ON, TUKUHA, CAN'T YOU GO FASTER?!
Suddenly, he was caught in a net and surrounded by humans.
P1: *Sobervia* It's not female, but it has strength. It can be useful for our army.
P2: *Disappointment* I wanted a female for myself. Damn.
Tukuha: *Furious* LET ME GO, LEAVE EVERYONE YOU KIDNAPPED!
A worker tried to restrain him, but Tukuha scalded him, burning his face.
P2: *in pain* AJJJJJJJ, FUCK!
The other worker pulled out a gun and, in an attempt to scare Tukuha, wanted to shoot at the ground.
P1: *Angry, at Tukuha* SHUT UP, YOU FUCKER!
In a scuffle, the worker accidentally fired....
But in Tukuha's head, killing him instantly.
P1: *Surprise* *Looking at the lifeless Vaporeon* NO, IDIOT, WHAT DID YOU DO!
Then, everyone was ordered to return to the meeting point in another town, as the authorities were arriving, leaving Tukuha's corpse on the street.
Two days later...
Tukuha slowly opens his eyes and finds himself lost. Suddenly, he realizes where he is: in the same place where he was shot. Confused, he walks through the shattered streets of the town and soon sees a large congregation in the square.
Tukuha: *Curious* What's going on?
As he gets closer, he sees Pokémon, neighbors and friends crying inconsolably, which perplexes him.
Ai: *saddened* Why did you leave, AHHHH!
Shiroi: *Crying* His children... his family... now we don't know where Toroku is or the egg.... This shouldn't have happened.
Confused, Tukuha tries to talk to his friends.
Tukuha: *Confused* Friends, but I'm here, where else would I be?
But no matter how much he talks to them, they can't seem to hear him, as if he doesn't exist.
Tukuha: Shiroi, Ai? What's wrong with them?
???: *scary voice* Oh, poor thing, you don't know the truth, do you?
Tukuha turns around and sees a strange being, a black-purple cloud with a terrifying appearance.
Tukuha: *scared* What are you talking about?
???: Ohhh... Get closer to where the coffins of this funeral are, because you're in one, by the way.
Tukuha approaches and is surprised to see among the deceased a picture of himself next to a coffin. He realizes that he is dead, in fact, he is a ghost. This leaves him stunned and with a sense of being lost.
Tukuha, with a lump in his throat and eyes full of disbelief, barely manages to articulate words.
Tukuha: *In shock* I... I... I... I can't be dead!
???: ???: *with malice* Oh, but you can, and in fact, you are. But don't worry, everything will be fine.
Tukuha, in tears, clings to the hope of his family.
Tukuha: *crying* What am I going to do now? I don't know where Toroku is... I don't even know if Satoshi was born... or if he's alive.
???: *with pride* Unfortunately for me, your children are alive. *Maliciously* Good thing I have you. Considering you were a terrible father, someone must pay for your mistakes. I'm forced to torture you for all eternity. *Laughs* Who am I kidding? I'm going to enjoy this.
The being, who reveals himself as Nightmare, drags Tukuha to a dark and terrifying place, a plane where time runs differently from mortal earth. Since then, Tukuha has been haunted by the mistakes of the past, constantly being reminded of his failures and selfishness, which breaks his heart day after day.
One day, for unknown reasons, Nightmare allows Tukuha to wander the world of the living. Confused but desperate to see his home once again, Tukuha goes with the flow. Nightmare deposits him near an unknown house at 3:00 in the morning. Peering through a window, Tukuha observes a Shiny Eevee sleeping peacefully on the top bunk, while a Bounsweet rests below. The scene perplexes him, making him question why Nightmare has brought him here and what connection this place might have to his past and current torment.
As he watched through the window, Tukuha felt a mixture of sadness and nostalgia. The figures of the sleeping Pokémon in the room reminded him painfully of his former life, when he was still part of the tangible world and his family was together. He stood there, staring, until a small movement in the room captured his attention. The Shiny Eevee, stirring in its sleep, dropped a small object from the bunk, which echoed softly as it hit the floor.
Intrigued, Tukuha watched as the Bounsweet, awakened by the noise, picked up the object, a small diary, and placed it on the table next to the bed before falling back to sleep. Tukuha, driven by curiosity and parental instinct, wished to enter and read that journal, looking for any clue that might connect him to his past or to his lost children.
Just as he thought about crossing the threshold, an icy voice stopped him.
Nightmare: *with a mocking tone* Do you really think you can interact with the physical world, Tukuha? You are a mere spectator now, a ghost trapped in a limbo of my creation.
Tukuha, frustrated but defiant, replied.
Tukuha: *Resolved* No matter what you tell me, Nightmare. I'll find a way to make a difference. I need to know they're safe.
Nightmare laughed, a sound that echoed with disdain and darkness.
Nightmare: *wrathfully* Well then, watch all you want. Watch and suffer, knowing that you can never change anything that happens. It is part of your punishment, Tukuha.
Despite Nightmare's cruel words, Tukuha felt a spark of hope. If he could see and learn from this strange limbo, perhaps he would find a way to communicate with the world of the living, or at least understand what had happened to his family.
Nightmare, with a sardonic smile, replied, *Superbly* As the humans say.... "The customer is always right."
Without further ado, Nightmare dragged Tukuha with unexpected force, transporting him to a completely different place, plunged in shadows and with an oppressive atmosphere. The place was composed of long, gloomy corridors that seemed to have no end.
Tukuha, as he wandered through the bewildering place, muttered: *confused* Where have you brought me?
The corridors led to a central hall that resembled a labyrinth, with doors extending in all directions. Looking closely at the surroundings and the doors that adorned the room, Tukuha recognized some elements and decorations that told him the true nature of the place. The place he was in was a brothel; possibly involved in darker and deeper activities.
Recognition of the place brought Tukuha a mixture of fear and curiosity. Though trapped in this strange and dark domain, he wondered what purpose Nightmare would have in bringing him to such a repugnant place. Determined to discover more, Tukuha began to explore cautiously, hoping to find answers or perhaps an avenue to exert some influence over the world of the living.
Tukuha wandered through the gloomy establishment, losing himself among its corridors for about twenty minutes, filled with confusion and despair.
Tukuha, pondering aloud, muttered: *confused* Why would Nightmare have brought me here?
Suddenly, his attention was caught by the conversation emerging from one of the nearby rooms. Moved by curiosity, he approached the door and stepped through it without difficulty, remembering that his ghostly form allowed him to pass through solid objects.
Inside the room, three Pokémon, a Gardevoir, a Lopunny and a Sylveon, shared sad stories of their lives. The Sylveon's words echoed with palpable sadness.
Sylveon, in a voice laden with resentment and sadness, shared: "Alas, my friends, mine was terrible! My mother disappeared without a trace. I thought my dad, a Vaporeon, would take care of us... but he didn't. He was always more focused on his work. He was always more focused on his work than on us, his own children. Once I confronted him and he yelled at me that I didn't know anything about the world and that I was comparing him to my mom. After that, he went out and never came back, not even when me and my brother, who was still an egg at the time, needed him. I guess he didn't care about us, and I don't think he ever looked for us. Sometimes I think my brother is dead, and that our father has already forgotten about us."
Hearing this, Tukuha's heart broke into a thousand pieces. Sylveon's words made him face the feelings of guilt and frustration that had overwhelmed him since his death. Breaking into inconsolable weeping, Tukuha cried out, overwhelmed with grief:
Tukuha: *crying inconsolably* Oh, Toroku.... Toroku... why did I fail you!
At that moment, Tukuha noticed the door begin to open, revealing the figure of a Braixen named Heather.
Heather, in a formal tone, announced: *serious* S30-5, your presence is requested in booth 20/1.
Sylveon, with a sigh laden with sadness and resignation, replied: *sad* Well, duty calls....
Tukuha, in a state of increasing agitation, exclaimed: *desperate* WAIT! What do you mean, 'presence'? For what.... *realizing what they're going to do to his daughter* no, it can't be! NOOOOOOO! Stop it, Nightmare! *crying, horrified at what they're doing to his daughter in this brothel* My daughter, my precious child, why do I have to watch you suffer like this? Leave her alone, please! Mercy for my daughter!
Nithmare: *laughing* JAJAJA..... OHH POORPETTY......... AS YOU SEE, YOUR DAUGHTER, THE ONE YOU WERE SO INTERESTED IN, IS A PROSTITUTE AGAINST HER WILL........ ALL BECAUSE OF YOU......JAJAJAJAJAJA
Tukuha: *with a horrendous pain in his heart, crying bitterly* SHUT UP NIGTHMARE, DAMN DEMON ...... MY TOROKU, LITTLE......AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
2 years later on a rainy night, coming back to the present
Tukuha was in a state of shock, witnessing in horror how his beloved daughter, Sylveon, known in the earthly world as S30-5, was subjected to near-fatal torture by a heartless human obsessed with money, with no regard for the lives of innocent Pokémon. Now, I watched her agonize in a sordid dump, struggling to breathe amidst her own wounds.
Tukuha, shattered, could barely articulate words between sobs.
Tukuha: No... Toruku... *begging, desperately* Don’t go like this, please”.
Heartbroken, she watched helplessly as her daughter’s eyes slowly closed, while her heart stopped beating and her breathing died.
Tukuha: No, please, don’t do this to me!” *despair* It’s all my fault! I shouldn’t have neglected them both. I can’t do anything now, I don’t want to see you die today, I don’t want to see you die today! Sorry... Sorry, Toruku, forgive me daughter!”
The cruelest thing was that Tukuha, being a ghost, was completely helpless. He could not communicate with his daughter, he could only observe her in her misfortune.
At that precise moment, Sunny, the previously mentioned gardevoir friend of her daughter, who had recently died because she had suffocated while serving a client and had therefore arrived in the spectral region, burst in. Sunny arrived visibly agitated and breathing heavily.
She, with a worried expression marked on her face, exclaimed: *worried* I barely managed to escape from Nightmare's domain! What's going on...? *stops abruptly upon seeing Sylveon seriously injured and bleeding* But what?! Sylveon! *crying uncontrollably*
Tukuha, overcome with guilt and frustration, muttered under his breath: *frustrated* What was I thinking that damn day I left her alone? This is all my fault now. Only the love for her and her brother has kept me sane. Here, in the spiritual region, I will not find even a hint of happiness, quite the opposite.
Sunny, full of doubts, responded: *with uncertainty* What do we do now? We can no longer do anything for someone who is practically dead.
Tukuha, refusing to accept the fate of his precious daughter, was filled with steely determination. *determined* Oh no, Toroku! I won't let you die tonight. I will personally take care of saving his life. I have 3 days before you are completely dead. I will take care of you, love you and protect you. I don't care if death tries to separate us; you will always be my girl.....
Pausing, Tukuha looked at her daughter tenderly and a new purpose shone in her eyes.
...I will no longer call you Toroku, because I do not want your life to be marked by misfortunes and abuse. From now on, I wish you to be a symbol of peace, love, comfort and consolation for others....
...my little Mint.
Tukuha: Children are a precious gift, value them.
