As a loud thud came from the car door shutting, a petite girl leaned to peer in from the window, smiling at the woman, saying, “I’ll miss you, Mom.” Her mother beamed a smile, heaving a breath. “Yoon, you wanted to attend this University. It’ll make it easier for you if your house is also nearby.” The girl whined a bit, pouting as her mother chuckled at her expression.
“You need to hurry off, I’ll drop off your luggage in your new apartment,” They reached for each other’s hand, bidding a quick farewell as the car drove off, making Yoon look back seeing the large school before, a beautiful fountain in the middle.
She tidied up her hair, straightening her clothes before going in. Entering the halls, there weren’t many people crowding in as she made her way to the Supervisors Office, meeting with a beautiful woman.
‘So pretty.’ She thought. Even a woman would know she was gorgeous, her brown orbs soon landed on the name-plate placed atop the desk, it read ‘Im Yoona’. Her daze was stopped by the woman’s soft voice reaching her ears, “May I help you?”
Yoon felt a bit flustered, clearing her throat, saying, “Ah–I’m a new student. I was wondering if I can get my time-table for the semester.” Yoona gave a sweet smile, nodding, “Oh, why didn’t you say so,” skipping through some files, she saw the student ID with Yoon’s face, “Min Yoon-sshi?” The girl nodded as Yoona gave her ID towards her before fetching a piece of paper from a drawer.
“Here is your identification and schedule. We also have uniforms, I’ll call you here to receive them, is that okay?”
Yoon nodded before leaving the bubbly woman’s room, moving down the hall as she stared at her time-table, seeing the numerous courses she’d have to take, sighing. ‘You chose Fine Arts, deal with it, Min Yoon.’
As she turned to the side, she collided with a figure, falling on the floor with a thud, another figure sat before you. She looked over, seeing a cute male wincing before looking over. The panic in his eyes was evident as he scrambled up and towards you, asking, “Oh god–I’m really sorry.” He pulled his hand out, making Yoon take it, getting pulled up with a reasonable amount of strength.
“Are you okay? I’m really sorry! I was–” “It’s fine. Really.” She said as he scratched his nape, seeing for any visible injuries.
Before he could utter anymore words a loud yell was heard, “Yah! Kwon Soonyoung!” Both turned to see a handsome male running towards their way, making Yoon alarmed whilst the latter male gasped, “See you around!” He ran off as the latter male chased after him, making her confused. ‘Are there crazy people here too?’ She frowned, ‘well, considering I went to a high-school where the teachers were former business giants or smarties, I don’t have the best track record for the word normal.’
She looked around, seeing her time table and took it when she saw a small item by the side. She duck-walked towards it, picking it up to see that it resembled her name-tag. Reading, ‘Kwon Soonyoung - 3rd Year’. “Huh… was this that hamster guy’s tag?” she stood up, moving to the corner that Soonyoung had dashed off, seeing no sight of him as she sighed, “I guess if I see him, I’ll return it…” she soon recalled her classes, making her gasp, checking the time table to see that she had only five minutes before the first class started.
Barely managing to make it, she was now by the door with her Professor, Cho Kyuhyun as he explained, “I’ll just greet them and let you do some introductions before I start my class.” Yoon nodded as the tall male went inside, the once noisy classroom became silent as he told them to stop messing about–some student piping down as he explained they’d be getting a new student, then came Min Yoon inside.
Yoon felt their eyes on her, making her swallow the lump in her throat, saying, “Hello, I’m Min Yoon. I hope we get along.” It was a slightly small voice as Prof. Cho nodded. “Nice to meet you, Ms. Min. I’ll let you sit by–Boo Seungkwan,” A brown haired male raised his hand, making Yoon give a bow to the professor before moving to the desk, ignoring the eyes on her before sitting down.
The lecture began as Yoon’s hands fidgeted with the hem of her dress shirt, hearing her heartbeat ringing in her ears when a light knock snapped her out of it, making her turn to the side, seeing Seungkwan giving her a reassuring smile. “You’ll be fine. Social Anxiety?” Yoon let out a shaky breath, lightly nodding as he gave her a piece of candy. “Just focus on the lecture and the candy. Time your breaths.” She uttered a small thank you before taking the small treat, popping it in her mouth as they listened to the class.
It was time for lunch when Yoon had moved to her locker with much difficulty after the halls got crowded. She put away some of her stuff and shut the locker to see a pair of eyes staring at her, making her jolt, “Oh my–Why are you there, Seungkwan-sshi?” She uttered as he gave a smile. “Just checking up on you, Miss,” He looked at your name tag, “Min Yoon. I’m planning on eating with some classmates, wanna come with?” Yoon felt confused at his sudden invitation, they’d just met after all.
Yoon was sure she’d sit alone, deciding to see what happens, she says, “Sure. I hope it won’t be too bothersome for them.” Seungkwan snickers as he leads the way, moving by him as you soon reach the large cafeteria, Yoon silently in awe as she moves to match Seungkwan’s pace.
Yoon feet soon let her stand before four figures, all of whom were curiously eyeing her. Seungkwan clapped his hand to get their attention, gesturing to Yoon. “She’s my new classmate and seatmate for most subjects. Her name is Min Yoon and since she seems fun, I’d like to befriend her–don’t chase her away.” He said as Yoon gave a sheepish grin and a tiny wave of a hand as a slightly tan girl beamed at her.
“Nice to meet you, Yoon-sshi. I’m Kang Seulgi, or just Seulgi.”
The first word that Yoon thought for her was that she was scary, but seeing how friendly her tone and smile was, she stood corrected. Seulgi became her closest companion at the moment as she learned that they all met through dancing or singing. Seulgi and her other friend, Wendy, were good friends as Seungkwan was bickering with the two other males at the table, Wooyoung and Yeosang.
Wendy looked at her with a sweet smile, “You must be new, right, Yoon-sshi?” “Uh–yes. I had to sort some stuff before transferring.” The former nodded, saying, “Don’t worry, we have some similar subjects. I’ll send you some notes if you ever need them.” Yoon felt like she saw her savior. “Thank you so much, Unnie.” Wendy cooed at her adorable exterior as Seulgi pouted, stating, “You are charming her again, Wendy!”
Yoon thought to herself, ‘Maybe this wouldn’t be as bad as I thought?’
